For those who would like to follow the Whitewater-Washington U. game Friday, here's a one-stop shopping place for you:

http://bearsports.wustl.edu/Sports/Content/Pages/fb8-27-12.aspx

That webpage has links to the Wash-U game notes, live stats, and video broadcast all rolled into one webpage.

If you prefer separate links, here they are:

Video: http://client.stretchinternet.com/client/wustl.portal

Live Stats: http://bearsports-livestats.wustl.edu/Football/xlive.htm

I will provide the play-by-play for the video broadcast, and Matt Hayden will be the color analyst.  We hope you enjoy the broadcast...pre-game show begins at 8:15 p.m. Central.

Do any local radio stations carry the game? I know our own Kool 106.5 will be available over the interweb.

Because it was quickly buried I thought I'd put this up one more time.  If you're a WARHAWKS fan and you're coming St Louis for the game you won't want to miss the pre-game social.  I've been told that over 80 people have confirmed their attendance.

Looks like UWL has chosen a starting quarterback:

http://lacrossetribune.com/sports/college/eagles-name-sires-starting-quarterback/article_e3614b3e-f0cb-11e1-9c0e-001a4bcf887a.html

I'm hoping for good things from Sires this year.  He played alright last year in a few starts, but with an entire offseason and the job his from the start I think he could have a big year.  I think UWL's success this year hinges on how Sires acclimates himself.  He's just got to find a way to use the weapons around him.

Yes, a new football stadium is in the works, plus a new indoor facility, to begin construction in 2014.

The football grandstand renovation will be complete and ready for play August, 2014, if things proceed according to plan. However, we're still looking for one deep pocketed contributor who can donate a quarter to half million. It seems were short sugar daddies around here.

Ask and you shall receive.

UWO has posted its depth chart (and new website).
http://www.uwoshkoshtitans.com/sports/fball/depthchart

Few quick hits:

Looks like the defense has switched from their base 4-2-5 look to a base 3-4 look.
The defense sports 8 SR starters, including all 4 SRs in the secondary.
Nate Wara must have put on a bit more size as he's now listed at 220lbs.
Former backup QB Olla moved to WR.

Who will you be watching..aside from your home team ...for the opener?
   UWL @ North Central
   UWP @ Buena Vista
   UWW @ Washington
   UWEC vs St Thomas
   UWSP @ St Francis
   UWRF vs Simpson
   UWO vs Central

UWL v NCC- I'm just as curious to see if NCC is championship caliber as I am to see if UWL is nearly back.
UW EC v ST T- Does St Thomas have the program depth to overcome loss of special senior class and how good is UW EC?
UWO v Central- Are the Titans a one hit wonder?
St Thomas does lose a lot, and yet they are still highly ranked.  I wonder why?
Or does the ranking really mean anything?  It looks to me like the last few years the WIAC pre-season rankings have pretty much resembled the way WIAC ended up the previous year.

Speaking as a MIAC guy, I think UST is now moving into reload territory. They've got to replace the 3 most significant offensive contributors (QB, WR, RB). But they've developed a strong Oline with solid depth. The QB out of Wisconsin is supposed to be the real deal. Bethel recruited him hard as well. Very athletic, dual threat, sort of kid.

And they continue to bring in large, deep recruiting classes. Supplemented by several high caliber transfers each year. As much as it pains me to say it, I think if anything they are under-rated at #8. Given their graduation losses, no problem seeing them drop a bit until they prove it on the field. But IMO I'm guessing in a few months they will be squarely in the conversation for #3-5 nationally. But I'm also hoping Bethel has something to say about that as well  ;D

02 Warhawk:  No radio stations in the STL area carry the Wash U. games.  Hope you all have a great visit to our fair city.  Several Wabash alumni in the area are planning to attend the game.  Last time I saw Whitewater play was against Wabash in the blizzard playoff game a few years ago.  This year, it looks like I may be seing Whitewater play in a tropical storm.  Towards that end, is there any talk of postponing the game to Saturday/Saturday night?  The forecast for Friday night is not looking too good.

Pat Coleman

I hope not -- I'm driving to St. Louis for the game but I have another game to be at on Saturday night!

When will UWW post its roster?

I asked the SID that same question yesterday and was told that the staff is still finalizing the roster and had not made it available yet.  I think it's likely to come out today or tomorrow but that's just a hunch on my part.
