Short article on Blanchard:
http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2012/09/lake_zurichs_matt_blanchard_gl.html

It would be interesting to find out the daily regimen of the practice squad player.  In Matt's case, I assume he'll be the scout team QB?  Does he get any snaps running the Bears' offense?  Does he participate in offense meetings or does he participate in defense meetings in order to play the role of opponent's QB?  Does he travel with team?  Does he know where Josh Williams is?

The Sun-Times gets the last word:

"Blanchard, the rookie quarterback from Lake Zurich High School and Division II Wisconsin-Whitewater, was cut prior to last week's final preseason game."

Congrats to the WIAC board for reaching the 50% plateau.

???  ???
I've heard of the Colorada Plateau, the Deccan Plateau, and I've even been to the Tibetan Plateau, but (you got me scratching my head again) what is the 50% plateau? Am I the only one who doesn't have a clue what you're talking about?

Am I missing something?  Or does it strike anyone else a bit odd that a coach gives his wife a game ball for cheering?

And no I'm not sexist.  It just seems that in a "come from behind win" there might have been some great plays on the field....by the athletes....the ones playing the game.  Is there another reason I'm missing? But a good column by d3football.  I like reading articles that add a tangent or two to a normal "game summary".

It's a small world, after all ... I'll hit 54 at the home opener next Sat.  Happy B-day, 413!!!
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

+k to 413 and a belated Happy Birthday! :)

Now on to the burning question I've been having and the discussion I've wanted to start:

How would you all rank the QBs we've had during this run? I'm not talking about wins and losses or Stagg Bowl wins but on how you feel they stack up on skills.

Mine goes like this:

1. Justin Jacobs
2. Jeff Donovan
3. Matt Blanchard
4. Danny Jones

I'm not ranking Lee Brekke yet, it's not fair until he at least has a full season under his belt.
