I know the top 25 teams are listed every week, but is that it?  Does the ranking go down any further?  I saw the preseason in Kickoff, but it didn't change any.

No, we do not re-rank past 25.

I ass - u - me d that you hung on my every post, so the 50% reference was to an earlier post about getting to half of the MIAC number of posts. I thought my context would give it away. I won't go back to 2005, but I would guess that the percentage was around 20%.

I know we on the MIAC board get into other irrelevant areas (as do many other boards) and youse guys are all about football (and personal stuff that affects one of the WIAC "family" of course) It was just a milestone I figured should be recognized.

I was nice enough to receive a Weekly WIAC Report for each game over the weekend.

I posted it here so you can be brought up to speed on last weekend's games.

You might be famliar with their work!  8-)

Wait. So when my team gets one point and is at the bottom of the list, they aren't ranked 47th? ;)

Short article on Blanchard:
http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2012/09/lake_zurichs_matt_blanchard_gl.html

It would be interesting to find out the daily regimen of the practice squad player.  In Matt's case, I assume he'll be the scout team QB?  Does he get any snaps running the Bears' offense?  Does he participate in offense meetings or does he participate in defense meetings in order to play the role of opponent's QB?  Does he travel with team?  Does he know where Josh Williams is?

The Sun-Times gets the last word:

"Blanchard, the rookie quarterback from Lake Zurich High School and Division II Wisconsin-Whitewater, was cut prior to last week's final preseason game."

I noticed that too.  -1 Sun-Times, -1...

Plus I would like to see UWL get the ball out to Bilderback. NCC seemed to shut him down last weekend.

Yeah it will be interesting to see how Bilderback does tomorrow.  The announcers during the NCC game made it sound like the weather was a big factor in him not doing too much, and we should see tomorrow how UWL will use him this year.  Last season they seemed to only throw him jump balls in the end zone or bombs down the field.  I think he's talented enough to do more than that and I hope they find a way to use all of his skills.

Bilderback should have more room to run tomorrow. NCC had the nations best corner on him on Saturday.

Thurs PM he'll only have DII scholarship corners on him...that should make it much easier for him, right?  ;)

It didn't look like those DII scholarship players were too solid against Findley.  Admittedly I don't know much about Findley perhaps they're really, really good.  But NMU's defense gave up a ton of points and their offense struggled.  If LaCrosse can come up with another defensive effort like last week they just might have a fighting chance in this one.  However I didn't pick them to win.  I guess we'll know tomorrow morning.

Your entire concept with this, much like most everything else on this board - under your name - is simply as(s)·i·nine.

That corner from NCC transfered from Illinoins State (DI)...so one could say Saturday's game against the DII corner will be a little easier  ;)

Are you talking about Josh Mitchell?  While he may have been a HM A-A last year, he came to NC from Quincy (source NCC roster), which is hardly DI Illinois State - they are DII just like NMU, playing the likes of St. Ambose, William Jewel, and MO S&T.

Shane Covington came from Indiana (Big Ten DI) and even played a few games for the Hoosiers as a Freshman. How sucessful was he playing DB for the warhawks? Just because someone comes from a higher division doesn't necessarily make them better than someone starting at DIII. It kinds of irks me hearing people throw that 'he came from DI, so he must be good' talk around. There's a reason a lot of them transfer - like, not getting any playing time because they really aren't good enough to get on the field. In my mind, that doesn't make them DI just because they practice with the team. Many of them see the writing on the wall and decide that level of ball is not for them because they want to play.

If I was LaCrosse I would have left at  7 this morning and come home later tonight.  If they leave Saturday morning they're going to miss the game. ;)

He started out at Illinois State...according to his interview in this year's Kickoff:

JM: "When I started at Illinois State, coach Stafford Davis was the graduate assistant there, and when I was looking to transfer, I called him up and he introduced me to North Central football. And I instantly fell in love with everything here and their philosophy."

^^Their roster says his last school was Quincy.
