The old Sentry? There's still a Sentry in Whitewater.

That's the new Sentry.  The old one is a strip mall.

Rough weekend for the WIAC.  LaCrosse, River Falls and Eau Claire all take it on the cheek.  Congrats Platteville and Stout.

I hope the River Falls lineman is going to be ok.

And for my pick em's.  >:(   I really thought that with Coach Z having another year to build, his intimate knowledge of UW-P, only losing by 3 points to them last year and coming off a 9-1 season, that the Spartans had a good chance to take this one.  Just goes to show you that the top of the WIAC.......is still the top of the WIAC, and I rarely get the Pioneers right.   :-X

Or it goes to show that Mike Z (on both sides of the ball) and the other offensive stars lost from last year's team were pretty darn good and their loss can't just be dismissed.

For sure, Pat!  Losing Michael, in hindsight, probably should have outweighed everything I listed above.  I may have been picking with my heart instead of my head a little with that pick.   ;)

Speaking of injuries, UWP's QB Nick Anderson broke his collerbone Saturday. That kid has a ton of talent but can't catch a break with injuries.

This is for sure.  I too fell into the trap of thinking this was the year Dubuque got over the top against UW-P.  Should have known better with how much they lost.  They also have to figure out a way to stop somebody defensively.  Last year's offense was prolific enough to overcome their defensive deficiencies (at least enough to win the IIAC).  That may not be the case this year.

I HATE to hear that.  Kelly is really good and the Pioneers will be fine, but you have to feel bad for Nick.  I'm sure he put in a ton of work and was so looking forward to playing this year. Is he expected to be able to make it back towards the end of the season or is he done for the year?

Tough break for Anderson.   I agree with you BP you have to feel for him.  Fortunately for the Pioneers Kelly got a ton of experience last year and is able to step in without the offense missing much of a beat.

My Inside the Box Scores is up for Week 2.

That's too bad, I really thought UWEC would stick it to St. Johns. What a rough start for Austin Neu. Almost looks like he's trying to do too much...at least that's how it appeared in the St. Thomas game. I wasn't able to watch any of the St. John's game, but just looking at his stats I can tell he didn't have a stellar game again.

A sincere thank you to footballfan413 for your extraordinary effort in publicizing on D3football.com chat rooms around the country on the establishment the Team Tom Cancer Fund and the associated event coming up at the Oct. 6th UW-Whitewater football game vs. UWRF at Perkins Stadium.  I remember the efforts of so many people in putting together the Cure 33 Fund and funraising event for your son AJ back in early 2010.  As you know I'm currently attempting to wage my own successful battle and the lessons I learned watching AJ's battle are something I have dwelt on over the past several weeks.

I will never be able to adequately express in words a proper thank you to you!

I have published a story on my voiceseyeonfootball.blogspot Website looking back at AJ's successful battle with cancer...

You are so very welcome but there is no need to thank me! It is the very least I can do. Fighting cancer can not be done alone. Please let the love, prayers and support of so many help give you the courage and strength to kick cancer's butt, Tom! If there is anything else I can do, please, just ask! :-*

Who will be second QB to enter game (after Brekke)? Matt Behrendt
Total # of passes?  16

Bonus Question:

Amount of rain in St. Louis on Friday?  2.41 inches

This is late in coming Bobo but nice jobs on these picks. You were almost exact on Ward and you got  correct- not far off on others.
I'm anxious to see the game this weekend. I am hoping to see more than four receivers catching passes. I am also curious if this will a game where Givens will show us the things we've heard about him doing in practice.

With that logic, schools from the NJAC should always beat a Mount Union?

Off topic (sorry) but does anyone know what happened to josh williams. And congrats to  Blanchard. I'll be waiting for the day when he leads the Bears to victory over the Pack. :):) BTW '02, hope you enjoyed your trip to Naperville.

Josh Williams from Downers Grove South must be like 4 or 5 on the depth chart right now.  He looked good on a couple of scrimmages but there are several more with more experience ahead of him right now.

WarhawkDad

Looks like Mr. Williams is following in his brother's footsteps down in Elmhurst. I guess he didn't want to wait his turn at UWW....oh well. We're deep at RB anyways  :)
