It means a lot especially if your WR is seriously hurt.

This is certainly true and may be more devastating than the loss. I hope that he will be OK. It didn't look that good as he was going off.

Horrible offense...they suck

It was a good 7 year run. Congrats mount union, ur back on top.

Easy there Warhawk, the sky isn't falling yet. Somebody keep him away from all firearms, sharp objects, knotted ropes and pills for the next 48 hours. Hopefully that'll give him time to gain some perspective.  :o

Trying not to get bad Karma from my mates, but NO ... UWW is on top until this year's Stagg Bowl.  What makes me happy is that UMUC's record winning streak is safe.  Congrats to UWW for the 4th longest streak.

But remember when UMUC lost their last regular season game ... Ohio Northern in 2005 ... no one got within 13 of them the rest of the way to the championship.  The Warhawks are more dangerous than ever!

Props to you, mr_mom +k

And respect to WWW. It's just a broken streak. LK hates streaks, Ive heard. You are still National Champs until someone else wins it in Salem.

I would be remiss in my venture into the WIAC for one of the few times ever if I didn't commend both Buffalo State and UW-Whitewater for scheduling this game. It's great to have inter-regional games to look forward to.

If u would have watched that game there's nothing dangerous about this team, at least offensively. We're down two All Americans now.

Who got hurt? Anything serious?

Always a bummer when a guy has his season cut short  :-\

For all of us who are not UMU or UWW all I can say is losing happens. It's tough when it hasn't happened to you in a long time, but it was bound to happen again and this doesn't change the fact that UWW is still a top team in the country. Trust the rest of the D3 fans on this... the sky is still up, Incan gods are not preparing to destroy the earth, and the temperature in he!! is the same this afternoon as it was this morning. UWW lost a non-conference game? Rare, but bound to happen. My money is still on them making a deep playoff run...

Huber got carried off the field. Couldn't put any pressure on left foot.

Congratulations to the Bengals of Buffalo State.  Obviously a very disappointing day for the Hawks.  I felt like Buffalo State earned this victory. I really can't think of too many areas in which UW-W outplayed them.  Congrats to all involved with the UW-W program on the amazing winning streak.

I was telling people in the press box today after the game that the sun will rise tomorrow.  I'm not sure everyone believed me.  :)

The only retrospective thought I had on my "long" ride home today was:

"The possibility of defeat is what makes victory so sweet".

Whether the Hawks go 5-5 this year (they won't) or win the National Championship (they might), we ought to enjoy and appreciate every single victory.  And so should every other team who takes the field.

Even through the disappointment, I can appreciate the fact that dreams were fulfilled today and lifetime memories were created. I don't know the folks who got to experience that today, but I have no doubt they are not altogether different than us.  The lifelong (literally) Warhawk fan in me is disappointed, but the D3 fan in me recognizes this is what makes D3 football so great and UW-W's victory streak all the more special.

The sun will come up tomorrow. The Warhawks will be just fine. And so will we.

Go Hawks!

+K to you bleedpurple. I think you put it into perspective perfectly. I can't even imagine having a team that won so many straight games in a row. I know I'd be very disappointed when they did finally lose as well.

Classy post bp. Being gracious in defeat is where character shows itself.

Oh come on. It's one game. Every team has injuries. Teams lose games. Hitch up your pants and go back to work. Finish first in the conference and go back to the playoffs. It won't be an undefeated season but it still can be a pretty good one.

Very strange stat line. Were there a lot of penalties and turnovers in the redzone?

Ps. I hate the new auto correct feature. There've been about a half dozen posts in last week where I used football shorthand and/or jargon, posted, and then realized the program had auto corrected me to a different word. I.e. 'yds' keeps becoming 'yes'
