No smart talk from me. UWW had an amazing run. I'm surprised they lost one here. Next week - start a new streak. Like they say in golf, you can't birdie 'em all, unless you birdie the first. I'm sure you'll have things going for Playoff time. You don't build a team like this that won't bounce back.

I rarely distribute karma and can't remember the last time I negatively hit anyone (Pat seems to know such things!), but +k Retagent.  As much as I go back and forth with you, I respect you for showing restraint here.  I don't know if you really like 413 as much as she seems to think you do, but you're all right, Ret!  ;)

Sakman 1111

Time to start a new streak with a win over the Pointers.....areas in my opinion that need some work:OLine must get a lot better,QB play needs some consistency, special teams must improve......It was a great run but UWW has the talent this year to make a run to Salem again......Pound the Rock......

KitchenSink

Thought the play calling was way too predictable.  Looks like out of 30 or so 1st downs, about 3 pass tries.  Yes - pound the rock, but keep them honest.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

It looks like UWSP had a big victory today- putting up lots of point.  This will be a very challenging year in the WIAC for all teams.

Ps. I hate the new auto correct feature. There've been about a half dozen posts in last week where I used football shorthand and/or jargon, posted, and then realized the program had auto corrected me to a different word. I.e. 'yds' keeps becoming 'yes'

This isn't a D3Boards feature... it's a feature of whatever browser (or phone, etc) you're using to post. You should be able to either turn it off through the settings or get it to recognize the shorthand that you're using.

UWO outgained UWL 407-102

Very strange stat line. Were there a lot of penalties and turnovers in the redzone?

Nope. Stifling defense by UWO forces LaX to punt on 9 of 12 possessions. Only 1 turnover, that by UwO

Interesting. I was wondering if UWO had more turnovers or redzone miscues thought, not LaX. 407 yds is a lot of offense for only 16 points.

Buffalo St had over 300 yards of offense, but only had 7 points today.

They missed a few FG's though right? That's the sort of redzone miscues that make sense of a 300 yd day and only 7 points.

Titans kicker was 3 for 3 on FGs. LaX kicker didn't have a fg attempt.

The one Eagles INT was at their own 2, so that stopped a scoring drive just short of a Titans TD. Lots of punts: 9 by LaX, 5 by UWO

Thanks! Makes sense since I updated my browser earlier in the week. Didn't put 2 and 2 together.

And here I thought I just never made mistakes.  ;D

ScreamingEagles

Tough loss again yesterday for UWL.  Defense did a great job in the first half stopping Wara, but the offense only had 102 total yards.  That made the D stay on the field way too long and they were wore out.

It's the same story as the other weeks so far this year.  If the Eagles can find a way to score some points, they will be tough.  If they can't, it's going to be a lot of 10-7, 14-3 type of losses.  I believe they can do it, I know they have the talent, but they need to put it together fast.

Credit to UW-O's defense as well though.  The loss UWL gave them last year seemed to provide more than enough motivation to completely shut down the Eagles O.

Congrats to Buffalo State.  The Perk is a tough place to play, and anyone who comes in and beats the Hawks has a damn good team.  Despite the loss, I still think UWW will be right there at the end of the year with a shot at the title.

We will see tomorrow what happens in the Rankings, but I can't see UWW falling behind anyone else in the West other than Linfield, St Thomas, Bethel and possibly UWP. Worst case scenario might even put Cal Lutheran above them. I think UWW's past performance will weigh heavily in keeping them in Top 15.

UWO did commit 5 penalties for 41 yards and repeatedly moved backwards on first down making it hard to sustain drives. That being said I think the punter, Hallingstad, had the most to do with the yards to points gap. He had a punt of 61 yards and averaged 47 yards per punt and placed 4 inside the Oshkosh 20. I can only think of one time when UWO got good field position and they were only able to get 3 out of that drive.

Good morning, Gentlemen.
Well, that game didn't go according to plan but the first thing I want to do is congratulate the Buffalo State Bengals, coaching staff and fans!  We remember, like it was yesterday, the amazing feeling to fly across the country and come home with a win against the defending national champs!  Despite the loss and disappointment for the Warhawks, I was thrilled for their program.  They went toe to toe with us for four quarters and certainly earned their win, as far as I am concerned!  A BIG congrats to them and to the Warhawks on their fabulous winning streak!  A streak is going to end and the end does nothing to diminish it's value!  Hey, the team got that monkey off it's back.   ;)  I am sure that this will serve as an important teaching moment for the staff and a reality check for the team.  Last weeks win was last week.  Last year championship was last year.  We have to bring our A-game every minute because we know our opponents sure will!  It is now about starting a new win streak and re-focusing on winning the AQ.  Looks to be a very tough WIAC race this year.

It was great being back at the Perk.  Had a ton of fun, loved seeing everyone and having Pat at the tailgate.

Here's how it should go (I hope)... get mad, reality check, work your ass off, win the WAIC, get to the playoffs, win , win, win.

I'm fine with 3 wins in the playoffs for UWW this season.    It's their 5th playoff win that's been ruining my vacation trips to Virginia.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!
