I always worry when he takes a short term sabbatical from the board because of his and his family living in South Korea.  Hopefully, it is because of work, or even better, fun travel.

It sure would be nice to have some UWEC and UWP fans on board. They have a big game Thursday. I'm not sure where most stand on picking the winner- but I'm going with UWEC. With their 2 close losses to good competition- it seems reasonable that they will be ready physically and hopefully mentally. With the high expectations for UWP- this is their chance to justify.

As for the Dub- I'm thankful we have one last week of non conference play. I don't know that one week is enough to get this offense on the right path.

02-Nice article.  I enjoyed reading it.   I do know why Arnold is there...but I'll hold off a bit posting to see if others have an answer.  And its kind of sad to see the UWS football field in weeds.  My older brother used to broadcast the football games on the campus radio station.  He would travel the state from  the north which a bunch of guys in a beat up car.  And this was BEFORE HWY 53 was four lanes. They did all the away games.  UW Superior is an important part of Wisconsin...for historical, cultural and educational reasons.  And today the school has many proud athletes who support each other in competition.  You can see that when they compete on the track!  Nice read, thank you.

Back When There Was Ten

Thanks, I appreciate it!

02 enjoyed when there was ten, I remember packing 10 wrestlers and 2 coaches in  van that seated 10 and driving form P-ville to Superior for a Friday match then to River Falls for a Saturday match I'm glad we only had to do it every other year it was the trip from hell.  In case anybody didn't mention it didn't Arnold graduate from Superior don't know how much he was on campus or if he played football.

You are correct.

I kept thinking to myself, "why the hell does Arnold Schwarzenegger keep appearing everyime time I do an intenet search for UW-Superior"? Then finally, after clicking on one of the links, I learned that he attended Superior back in the day. However, I couldn't find anything suggesting he played football.

Wow, the quiet of the Perk last Saturday after the loss is now being replicated on this Board.  I know the film session yesterday was enlightening and the Warhawks are hard at work on fixing the execution issues.   My biggest frustration was lack of adjustment at half-time.  Traditionally that is one thing the coaches have done well.

Secondly I hope we can see more of Ryan Cortez on the field.  He just flat makes plays.  He was last years leader in defensive points, seemed to always come up with a big sack or stop for loss when it was needed.  With Noah Timm done for the season and Chris Pendergast hurt this last game, we need playmakers.

I'm hoping EC can pull out of their slump.  They made too many errors, and Neu hasn't looked as sharp as usual but he looked great on the last scoring drive against St John so I'm expecting a good game from him.  St Thomas and St Johns are usually two very good teams.  EC lost by 3 and both games were competitive so even with two losses they aren't necessarily down and out yet.  But if they lose this game, that's 3 losses very early in the season and that has got to be a major letdown.  I'm not sure about UWP situation with the qb out - he broke his collarbone, right?   UWP should be a very tough game irregardless.  UWEC has to clean up their mistakes and I think they can.

Does anyone know if Fox is carrying any WIAC games this year?

Agreed on all accounts WD.  My initial reaction to the offense was that it didn't seem that there was much diversity in the plan- especially when we have heard about the solid recruits and transfers and we don't see them involved- except Givens.  What we don't know (of course you may) is what the plan was going into the game.  It's possible that UWW wanted to focus heavily on establishing the basic run game- and to work at it despite the situation as long as they felt the game was safe.  Getting stuffed on third and short was a headscratcher for sure.
I've posted that I'm surprised with the lack of involvement from the reciever corp.  Even with Huber's injury it seems there is plenty of talent that can be utilized in the passing game.  I'm still waiting for UWW to implement the slant route- I can't remember when I last saw one called.  We have two tall receivers that can surely get a DB on their back.  Crossing routes?

Cortez- Can't say it any better- he flat out makes plays.  He was credited with causing the fumble when BSU was near our end zone- In terms of big plays made per play, he's got to be at or near the top.  We have 4 great linebackers- hmm, isn't there a scheme that can have them all on the field at the same time?

This weekend is not a must win, but it sure is a must improve dramatically in many different ways for the offense.  DB's have to step up too as UWSP can throw the ball.

Oh, crap, I forgot about this.  I may have to re-visit my pick em's.   :-\  Need a bold move anyway to try and catch up since this season has not been kind to me so far.  Unless, I just cheat like BW.     ;) 8-)
