After you've posted, when you go back to read it, there are three options in your post =
Quote
Modify
or
Remove
Modify will let you edit your post...
I have quote and remove, but no modify.  Any ideas?

You don't get modify until you've made a few more posts. That's a privilege you have to hearn.
I see.  So I can delete my posts, then re-do them with the changes I wanted to make, which is the same result as modifying but only more work for me.  What about this don't I understand?
But I accept your rules. :) So how do I earn my big boy pants and make my life easier?  So far I haven't ticked anybody off and I got 5 karmas.   ;D
Hang in there, Couch.  I, for one, am impressed that you go through the long process of fixing your posts.  Many just leave the first draft.   ;)  BTW, just in case you are might be thinking of doing a bunch of nonsense postings or a thought stretched out over several posts, it's been tried before, and Pat doesn't appreciate it.    LOL  ;D

Speaking of crowd size....I'll be @Platteville tonight for the UWEC matchup.   I don't anticipate a huge turn out for a Thursday night game.  Even playing cross town , or cross river, rival Dubuque, they didn't have a huge turnout.  The stadium looks cool....should be a fun night!  And couch is right the BMB ( Blugold Marching Band) is amazing!!!  If you've never heard them, be sure to head to Carson Park some day.  More then 300 members!  The sound is BIG, the drum line tight.  These musicians are serious!
Absolutely, they are stellar and have been for years!  Loved hearing them back when we were traveling to away games.

Nonsense posting?  Of course not!  I wouldn't want to ruin my reputation or lose my karma.  My posts will continue to be thoughtful and full of insight.  OK - I couldn't resist.  I'm done  ;D  Back to serious football chatter.

Regarding crowd noise, a subject near and dear to my heart, I have always been frustrated with the crowd participation in general.  Most sit on their hands most of the time.  I, absolutely, believe in the 12th man to help intimidate the opponent, make it difficult for their offense to hear the count, and yes, fire up the boys.  And if it didn't help, why do many players on the bench and field turn to the stands and wave their arms up and down trying to encourage the fans to yell especially on 3rd downs and crucial plays. Is that why a team loses? Of course not, but it sure can help them win, IMHO.   But, I will not blame it on complacency from success because it has been the same since my son's red-shirt season in 03.  I drive many fans crazy because I do yell and jump up and down often and my reputation for it was demonstrated to me years ago.  One time, we were about 3 minutes late returning to the stadium after halftime when my son was still playing.  As I was walking down an aisle, a woman who I did not know grabbed my arm and said, "you missed your son catching a pass," and I said, "he plays defense."  She said, "I know."  HE JUST CAUGHT A PASS!!!!"  I wasn't sure what was worse, missing my son's interception or the embarrassment of knowing that most of the  stands knew we weren't there because they didn't hear us screaming!!    Sitting near me can't be easy if your viewing style is the opposite.    ;)

Yes the BMB is fantastic.  And I am sure they have a hand in the good turnout UWEC experiences for their games.  They are MUCH appreciated at the games.  They add to the atmosphere and keep the fans going.  They are also getting serious attention for their skill.  I am impressed with the UWP stadium - it is beatufiul.  I am bringing a UWP alumni with me tonight as he wants to see the stadium.  I don't expect a big crowd as it is a Thurs night game.  I'm all pumped and ready to go!  I am expecting a good game.
413 - you could sit be me anytime.  I like fans who "get into it".  Of course, it really wouldn't work as we are not on the same side of the fence...but you know what I mean.  I was told at the last game by a friend that they did not want to sit behind me because I keep jumping up and yelling.  So I guess I move to the top of the stands from now on.  Actually that was a good wakeup call because I noticed that there are elderly people who do not stand up well and I tend to sit more in front and jump up over anything and shouldn't be blocking their view.
And I also want to mention that I just noticed UWP is rated pretty high in the polls and UWEC doesn't even get a vote.   :o  I think you should consider changing your pick 'em.
Three subjects in one post.  I have to ration my posts or everyone will think I'm just trying to get my big boy pants!  ;D
But over and out.  Back to work and on to UWP.

If I could, I would stand the entire game. But that seems to piss people off behind me.

Maybe I need to start sitting by FBF413 and WarhawkDad

Had a chance to take in the Blugold marching band last year.  They are really good and put on a great halftime show.  Plus you can see that they are really involved in what is happening on the field.  They're very supportive of the team.  Enjoyed listening and watching them.

If UWEC wins the WIAC, how good does that make the MIAC.

Incidentally, if my aunt had testicles, she's be my uncle.

Just to clarify, you're not saying you think either of these scenarios is likely, correct  ;D

Oh, I am always considerate of this.  That is why, I try not to sit directly in front of or behind anyone and when someone tries to sit behind me or in front of me,  I forewarn them about my propensity of cheering and jumping up and that this will be a declared, "loud," section.  Funny how many of them do choose to move elsewhere.  :o     Hard to find an open spot sometimes when it is crowded, however, and we lollygag at the tailgate.    ;)

Were the UWP athletic teams ever called the Miners or is the big "M' just an acknowledgement for the college of Mining & Engineering?

They've been the Pioneers since around 1910. Not sure if they've ever been called anything else. Correct, the M stands for mining, stemming from its Mining Trade School days.

In many of the playoff games I've been to I actually like to stand by the UWW band.  Once that group gets going they are a lot of fun.  I take a beating from friends because I happen to enjoy doing the Warhawk Strut.

I've always found the crowd closer to the sidelines to be a bit more engaged than up in the stands.

Although I wish we didn't have to "manufacture" crowd involvement, I do think there are some simple things that the program can do to help.  Use the video screen for things like D-Fense and U dub-Dub.  Perhaps find students that will carry the U W W placards and hold them up at certain times.  The band can "play some funky music (are the next words "white boy" or "right boy" or neither?)."
