Most likely Top 25 team to get upset.
Ryan's take: No. 4 UW-Whitewater. I'm not going to lie, I feel like I'm stirring the pot with this one, even though that's not my intent. Any team lining up against UW-Stevens Point would have its hands full this week — Whitewater just happened to draw that short straw. The Pointers are 1-1, coming off a week of drubbing Dubuque. Their only loss is an eight-point decision to St. Francis, one of the nation's best NAIA programs. UW-SP has put up some wild numbers on offense, but the key to beating Whitewater will be defense, as Buffalo State showed. The Warhawk throne has been rattled. I'm sure most of you are like me and eager to see how the defending national champions respond tomorrow and through the rest of the season.

No offense Ryan but it was Stevens Point who drew the short straw.  That is the team that had to play the WARHAWKS after their first loss in forty seven games.  ;)

Thanks for the billboard material. How about another shot this week leading into the Platteville game?

Wow, guys -- why the 20-20 hindsight posts from both of you? Aren't you two above that?

Come on, Pat, even Ryan knew he was sticking his neck out pretty far.

Those nudges by BW and voice were pretty mild.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Oline was outstanding today. Ward had tons of room to run, and Brekke was given time to throw. Offense in general was much better, but there's still room for improvement. Too many receivers where over shot for my liking  ;).

I feel better heading into the Platteville game next week.

Thanks to footballfan413 and warhawkdad for the hospitality!
Any time , 02.  Sorry we abandoned the last hour of the tailgate but it was for a terrific reason.  We attended the ceremony to honor Coach Bob Berezowitz and the re-naming of the SAC building which is now appropriately named the Berezowitz Student Athletic Complex!  The building was a dream of Coach Bob's and thanks to all his hard work and many others to help make it a reality, it is one of the special facilities that now helps attract great athletes to Warhawks sports!  5 of the 20 UWW sports are housed in the building!  I had personal experience with Coach Bob and his terrific staff starting back in 03 while recruiting my son and know, first hand, his passion and love for UWW football and the university.  It was a wonderful ceremony and a much deserved honor for someone who, indeed, has been hugely responsible for the football program's rise to the elite level and will always be synonymous with WARHARK FOOTBALL!

Congrats to the team for landing on their feet.  I highly suspected that the loss, despite Buffalo States terrific play and earning the win without question, also had plenty to do with a let down on our part.  Would not have wanted to be the team who came to the Perk on Saturday.  Now on to conference play and a huge challenge against the Pioneers who are proving they may have a new found consistency!  We will have our hands full and still have plenty of work to do to keep improving every week!

Actually just anticipating a big game this weekend and nothing more.  Wasn't taking a "shot" at Ryan T.
He wasn't the lone ranger in questions heading into Saturday's game.  I'm sure his quote helped put more of a chip on UWW's shoulder.
As far as hindsight for me is concerned... I can't even remember what I had for lunch yesterday.

Pat, I was just poking a little fun at Ryan.  That's why I started my post with "No offense" and ended it with a winking guy.  To be completely truthful I hadn't even read your projections until just prior to posting.  I guess the post didn't come across in the manner that I had intended and my apologies if it's offended.

You and retagent didn't nick my karma over this did you?  LOL

I didn't.

When something like the Buffalo State debacle happen, it brings in many questions. There was a lot of that going on by the regulars on this board - understandably. When anyone goes out on a limb, there's a good chance that limb will break. I always like when someone goes against the "conventional wisdom" and I would guess many of us do. That, however, should not keep us from giving the bidness to the one who does go out on that limb. Find fun where you can.

PHEW!!!!!  Thank goodness all is right in the DIII world now that UWW is back to its winning ways.   ;)

I remember the doom and gloom talk back in 2005 when Mount lost in the regular season to ONU.  That loss came after the previous two years of losing in the finals to SJU in 2003, and then losing to UMHB in the semi's in 2004.  People were wondering if the Kehres "magic" was over.  NOT SO FAST MY FRIENDS!

I think all top teams face that one or two games during a stretch where they don't play very well, but have to figure out a way to win.  It just so happened that UWW couldn't do so against B-State.

I fully expect UWW to run the table in the WIAC, unless someone (Oshkosh?) plays a flawless game, and UWW has a few glitches on that particular day.

Probably see you purple cousins in December.  Sigh.........(man I HATE those guys!)   8-)

Saturday sure turned out to be a nice day- especially at the ceremony and inside the stadium.
I echo 413's comments on the ceremony for Coach Berezowitz.  I was amazed to learn the level of generosity of a couple of donors to get the project started- special people for sure.

Coach Perkins, at age 91 or 92, was incredible.  It was a special moment to see him climb to the stage and then give an incredibly clear and completely compelling speech.
