VOICE,
check your picks this week.  You missed the Warhawks vs. Pioneers game.  Tough call, (seriously,)  but you gotta make it.   ;) ;D

Great articles, BP and 02!

WIAC Conference Play Preview

'02, a little WIAC street cred from Menomonie. I appreciate your efforts on your blog and read it every week. Don't always agree but that's part of the point, right? I can always tell you gave it alot of thought, and you tend to be right on.

Fun stuff to read. Thanks and +k.

Thanks for being an avid read, I appreciate it. +k

Best of luck to ur boys on getting the War on 94 Trophy this weekend.

Ahem.  I'm an avid reader also.   >:(
Just kidding - really - I couldn't resist.  ;)   I appreciate your blog and wait for it every week.  Your thought on UWEC are right on.  I really wish this is one of the weekends where the teams played at different times because I would love to watch UWW vs UWP especially after watching UWP last week.  UWEC certainly shot themselves in the foot and the score shouldn't have been that lopsided, but UWP looked sharp.  As someone noted, their qb can get that ball off fast and accurately.

Three or the four WIAC games this week should be really good ones (sorry River Falls).

I believe UWEC will get their first "W" tomorrow. Thanks for reading!

I won't go any further down that road 02- but I am curious to read other's opinions on including NFL players as some part of conference ranking criteria.

I was surprised to see how far the CCIW fell.

I suppose having the top team in the CCIW fall at home to an unranked team will do that. Then again, the same thing happened to the WIAC.

Wheaton also lost to Albion.

About NFL players -- that's part of the consideration but a very small part of it.

Good point. I suppose if Platteville and/or Oshkosh would have lost, we might have seen the WIAC drop

So I guess that'll happen when TWO of the top teams in the conference lose to unranked teams.

Right, no doubt the CCIW deserved to take a hit-I just don't know that it's #7.  My "surprised" comment is based on the conference as a whole.  Their #1 and #2 may not be as good as past years, but you are going to get a good game from their 1-7 or all 8 teams.

7 seems fair to me for the CCIW. Their top teams haven't played ranked teams well in either non-conference or playoff games. And, too many of their teams are playing cupcakes in their non-conference games.

One of the other things to remember is that both CCIW teams went out of the playoffs last year earlier than their rankings would have suggested.

Assuming that the rankings reflect the beginning of this season and the end of last season, it makes sense that the CCIW would slip to 7th. I don't think there is a lot of difference between the fifth, sixth or seventh place  but the two just above us are marginally better, until we prove differently on the field (especially in the playoffs this year).

Just need to go get my nasal passages CT scanned in an hour and I'll be on my way to Platteville! Go UWW!
