I agree with 02 that the Stout game maybe the opportunity to see what some key position players can do......Have watched recently QBs like Bogardt,Jacobs,Jones,Donovan, and Blanchard who were all excellent, exemplary running backs like Beaver and Coppage, and a great crew of wide receivers. It appears the Warhawks may not have that kind of talent this year at those positions but who knows unless some of the new blood gets a chance...I have faith in our superb coaching staff that they will  decide on the correct direction to take.....Pound the Rock......My best to Tommy P. Sorry the Goo Crew missed your day at the Perk.......

Shouldn't the time to see some other players perform been last Saturday, not against Stout. Stout has already beaten UWRF UWRF is at the bottom of the conference, and UWW let them hang around for 3 quarters. If the offense performs at the same level, it could be a close game. Don't expect Stout to turn the ball over in the same way as UWRF.

I fully expect Stout to be turning it over. Going into Saturday nobody in the WIAC has turned it over more than Stout has, and nobody has forced more turnovers than Whitewater has. Not a good matchup for the Blue Devils.

Their defense worries me...not their offense.

UW Stout appears to be similar in style (not as accomplished) as UWO, the QB is one of the leading rushers.  I like UWW's D against an offense like that.

I don't like Stout's defense against our offense though. If we thought River Falls was tough to throw on...lookout.

Stout will have the best defense we've faced all year. This might be a 7-6 game (hopefully we're on the winning end of it this time).

I was going to add to my post that after Stout reviews the game film, they may come out with a very conservative game plan - thinking that it will be a low scoring game. Don't make mistakes  and see what happens.

You raise an interesting idea here Gator. It seems like it would make sense for Stout to turn ultra-conservative on offense so as to limit their mistakes and force UWW to score offensively- without the help of turnovers. Clever.

I admit that in the game Saturday I felt it made perfect sense for UWW to punt the ball on first down and let our defense handle the scoring.

I didn't see the game, but it seems as if NCC handled Stout fairly easily (37-10 final, @ Stout). Is UWW that far off from their norm that this game is actually of worry? I mean, I know everyone needs to be on guard every week (anyone can lose any given weekend), but seeing how NCC handled Stout I would think UWW should roll as well...no?

It should be a similar score. But I have a tough time seeing UWW put up 37 in Stout.

Was the Fundraising Event for Tommy P. only for this past Saturday or is it possible for those of us who couldn't be there to still contribute?  I'm coming to the Homecoming game (actually from the 18th thru the 22) and I would really like to contribute to this very worthy cause.  Please somebody let me know.  Thanks!! I'm so looking forward to my first ever visit to Whitewater!

Onlinemom...

Thank you for your interest in my ongoing battle vs. colon cancer.  The Team Tom Cancer Fundraising event at he UWRF at UWW football game was incredibly successful with $10,200 raised. I'm overwhelmed at the generosity of Warhawk fans and the love I felt when on the field during the end of the 3rd quarter ceremony on Saturday.  I was overcome with emotion.

The Team Tom Cancer Fund Drive continues.

Donations may be sent to:
Team Tom Cancer Fund

I look forward to seeing our No. 1 Warhawk football fan living in Virginia!

Does that put our trepidation in any better perspective?

Did anyone watch the Oshkosh/UWEC game on-line?  Did you have to pay to watch it?

I don't know what to say about UWEC.  Good Lord.  Every year same thing.  They start out with promise, then seem to go downhill as the season wears on.  Neu seems to hang on to the ball too long. Even when receivers are open down field, he seems reluctant to throw.  Not sure what's going on with that.  It seems he has good receivers.  Not sure some of the younger receivers are blocking as well.  But of course, without film to watch or instant replay, it is hard to really absorb what one sees so take my observations with a grain of salt.
But Oshkosh looks to be a good team.

No, I wasn't around all weekend to watch any games. However, I was in La Crosse, and I watched a couple of snaps from outside the stadium from my car. Very nice place to watch a game I must say.

And that's the extent of my WIAC football for the weekend.

Absolutely this is a game to worry about.
A quick run through of stats to compare to NCC offense to date.  UWW has 5 touchdown drives of 50 or more yards.  NCC has 17.  The UWW offense is simply not moving the chains.  It's not so much the points that concern me at this point, it's the inability to just move the dang chains.

There sure seems to be a lot of experts on this board that seemingly (in their mind) have a better grasp on UWW's offensive Inconsistencies than the coaching staff does  :-\

Must be rough to be 4-1 and have a little offensive ineptitude for the first time in at least 7 years  ;)

Well from what I've heard Brekke has been getting it at practice and told to step it up and play like a captain. Made it sound like something could change if he didn't, and that was before the Platteville game.

I don't think anyone believes they know more or won't support the coaches but when the little bit of positive QB we've seen all year was from the backup everyone has the right to speak out about that as long as no one is being disrespectful to the players or the coaches, and so far nobody has been.

I would be comfortable saying that's an outlier though...much like NCC/UW-L. I don't think anyone would expect the same outcome were NCC and UW-L to play eachother again. (No offense to UW-L, they deserved that victory)

True enough.  Hard to believe in reading the board that other than Buffalo State, UW-W has not scored less than 27 points in a game, isn't it?

Actually, I'm sure it's kind of hard to believe that for many people just watching the games!  :D
