A look at the UW-W win over River Falls and a look at the results of Hawk drives so far this year that start with field position of no better than their own 35 yard line.

Very true about their offense needing to take flight. They will be facing (apart from themselves) the top two defenses in the WIAC over the next two weeks.

I'd like to take an informal poll to help me set my itinery for this weekend.

UWW is at UW-Stout on Saturday and of course I plan to be there.

Just 20 miles down the road - Durand which is my home town - is now ranked No. 2 in WIAA Division 4 and will be pllaying Ellsworth Friday night trying to wrap up the school's first unbeaten regular season in many years.

BTW - I am having a kidney stone removed surgically tomorrow morning.

Am I "biting off more than I can chew" by making it a doubleheader this weekend.

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone know if Fox is going to televise any WIAC games this year?

I asked the WIAC the same question, and I never got a response back. My guess is no, because they usualy announce the times and dates of those games on their Weekly Release. But I don't see it on there this season.

I think that's a decision that you have to make, Voice.  You're the only one who really knows how you feel and how much stamina that you have.  If, after your treatments, you feel up to it go for it.  If you don't then it would probably be a good idea to skip one or both.  Either way I don't feel that's a question that neither I or anyone else other than you can answer. Your well being should always be your first concern.

Hi Voice,

You are in my prayers for sure.  A Kidney stone? Now THAT isn't even fair.  I'm reminded of an episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond" in which Raymond's brother Robert (Brad Garrett) looks up at God with exasperation and groans 'OH....COME....ON!"  I know none of this is fair, but your job is to keep fighting. We are with you.

As far as this weekend, my thought is that you should see how you are feeling after your surgery tomorrow and see how you are feeling on Friday.  If you are up to the trip, you could get into the area and decide then whether you are up for two games.  If you pick one to go to, you KNOW which one to pick!  ;D

KitchenSink

If you will be sitting on aluminum bleachers for two games, doubtful.  If you have luxury suite La-Z-Boys to sit in, sure.  Anywhere in between, it's up to how well you are feeling, voice.  Friday night looks dry but chilly, Saturday chance of showers.

You could take in a part of the HS game, maybe leave at half-time.  Ellsworth is 2-5, it might be well in hand.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Only you know how you feel and I agree with bleedpurple, you need to assess after your kidney stone surgery.    I guess the other thing is mode of transportation.  Are you driving yourself or being driven?   Driving yourself after the kidney stone surgery and all you are going through could be very tiring.   I would hope you would have someone traveling with you.

Please take care of yourself.  You need your stength to fight this battle.   As I tell my college age kids....."don't burn your candle from both ends"  :) :)

Your heart is 100% in the right place.   Ultimately your could always take the fan bus to and from Menomonie.

The forecast is getting worse for Saturday, at least in the western part of the state.  Let's hope the rain holds off til after the games are done.

Thanks for the good news  8-) ;D   Question, if a game is postponed due to thunder and lightening, when is it played.  I have wondered about that for sometime.  Given the forecast for Menomonie on Saturday there is a chance.   What happens?

No kidding...that'll make things interesting for UWP's offense.

UW Stout appears to be similar in style (not as accomplished) as UWO, the QB is one of the leading rushers.  I like UWW's D against an offense like that.

I don't like Stout's defense against our offense though. If we thought River Falls was tough to throw on...lookout. Stout will have the best defense we've faced all year.

UWO scoring defense #2 in WIAC behind UWW
UWO rushing defense #2 in WIAC behind UWW
UWO pass defense efficiency #2 in WIAC behind UWW
UWO opponent 1st downs #2 in WIAC behind UWW
UWO opponent 3rd down conv #2 in WIAC behind UWW
UWO pass defense #1 in WIAC
UWO total defense #1 in WIAC
UWO sacks #1 in WIAC

Stout is ranked #3 overall team defense.

I think the point 02 was trying to make was that Stout's defense will be the best they have faced up to this point in the season on Saturday....

Bingo

Cool...then I'll bring this up again on October 20th  8-)
