I expect this weeks game to be as close as last year.  Differences.....UWW defense is better, last year Arnold was hurt, the D struggled.  UWW offense, not as explosive.  UWO, defense similar to last year, but on offense, not sure Wara has the options he had last year.

2011 team put up 31, 17, 56, 42, 23 and 24 pts in first 6 weeks.
2012 team put up 47, 16, 70, 19, 50 and 34 pts in first 6 weeks.

In fact, offense has put up more points this season than last, so far. 3 of those games came against similar opponents.

Coach C has stated numerous times this is the best team he's coached (I'm sure there isn't any coaching bias there  8-))
WarhawkDad was talking about the Whitewater offense not being as explosive....  The numbers you gave are for UWO's offensive production.

I think oshfb just highlighted the wrong section. I believe he meant to highlight the part where WarhawkDad says "not sure Wara has the options he had last year."

This just in.......

Saturday's UWO at UWW game will be shown LIVE statewide to Charter and Time Warner Cable (TWC) cable subscribers. More detailed information will be coming up later this week.

Hopefully the streaming video is working well too.  Watching UWO/UWW will give me something to do during the 2nd half of the Mount/Otterbein game.   Wonder if the folks back in Alliance would rather hear us do play-by-play on a game in Wisconsin instead of the last 30 minutes of a Mount romp?   I'm guessing YES.

There are so many things to admire about Mt and its success- but it's got to be so frustrating, and honestly boring- to watch such lopsided games. Mt should think about subcontracting some of their #2's to their conference opponents.

8-) 8-) 8-)   I really appreciate the humor.   ;D  There are those days when I go on this board at lunchtime just to catch-up and I will read something like the above and it just makes the rest of the day easier!   Thanks for these kinds of posts!

I figure you meant it as a joke, but there's more truth to that than you may realize.  Mount's JV team would have beaten any of the teams we've seen the last 5 weeks.  And those like Wilma or Musky would have been ugly.

I'm looking foward to my foray to Wisconsin this weekend for the Homecoming festivities At UW-Whitewater.  Please tell me it's not going to snow.  I know there was snow the other year at Salem, but honest it wasn't my fault.  I have to drive in from Milwaukee and I'm nervous about the white stuff.  Does the team have open practice
thursdays and Fridays?  I 'll be getting to Whitewater Thursday afternoon and would like to watch practice if it is possible.  That would keep me from going shopping too much though I must go to the bookstore and get tshirts for my brothers.  Their Linfield ones are getting ragged.   Hoping to see many of you at the tail-gating Saturday am and at the game.  I'll be the one in pink with the southern drawl.

It's not going to snow.  I don't know about rain though.  I believe practices are open.  I'll try to verify that at tonight's QB Club meeting and let you know if it's otherwise.

No snow in the forecast~ looks to be a beautiful fall day.  Fingers crossed.  My AccuWeather says, "partly sunny with a cool breeze."  High of 58 on Saturday so it will be cold all morning.  Some showers on Thursday and Friday though.  Looks, for now, like a great Homecoming day.  Just hope the Titans don't ruin it!   ;)  We will be in our spot on the side by the baseball fields,#A13.  #33 is able to make it for the first time this season with HS coaching winding down.  The program is recognizing the 5th Anniversary of the 07 team winning the FIRST National Championship!  You never forget your first!   :)    You are all welcome to stop by!

Safe Travels, OLM.    See you Saturday!  :-*

Worry bugs are settling in. I don't see too many holes in Oshkosh's game that Whitewater can exploit. Oshkosh matches up very well to Whitewater. I guess we'll see.

Best comparison stat that I've come across:
- UWW's defense has forced 27 turnovers (second best in DIII)
- UWO's offense only has 1 turnover (best in DIII)

Ahh, everything is right in the world   8-) 8-)   02 is worrying.   I am decidedly pumped for this game.

With everything pointed to a close game.....what is homefield advantage worth?

Only 1 turnover is amazing.
If you had told me before the game that Stout wouldn't turn the ball over until the 4th qrtr I would have bet big the game would have been tight.  Much to my appreciation, the UWW offense did not need the UWW defense- for the first time this season.

It will certainly be tougher vs UWO but at least we have reason for optimism.

The UWW defense caused 3 and outs and special teams helped create good field position for the UWW offense.

The Warhawks starting position on scoring drives and results were:

UWW 41 Yd Line - TD
Stout 49 Yd Line - TD
UWW 20 Yd Line - FG
Stout 28 Yd Line - FG
UWW 32 Yd Line - TD
Stout 44 Yd Line - TD
Stout 9  Yd Line - TD

So regardless of takeaways (which I hope we have a bunch) if the defense can cause 3 and outs and special teams perform well, it will certainly help the cause.
