Very interesting discussion 413 and 17! I think all those thoughts should be/will be part of the evaluation process LL will be going through as he evaluates this year.  If there is any shade of complacency (just a word to describe what you guys are talking about, not meaning anyone is truly complacent), I'm confident it will be dealt with.  Although I do believe the evaluation will occur, I'm doubting much will be found.  My thoughts on why UW-W is where they are right now.

1. UW-O (it just seems like they have to be put here to give credit where credit is due).
2. Performance. I think certain areas of the team have not performed up to the level of previous years.
3. Injuries.  The reality is that UW-W is playing some kids that would normally simply be getting stronger and experienced in the program, rather than playing if not for a host of injuries. Positions affected: projected/probable starter at right tackle (out for the year in training camp), starting right guard (out for the year as of a few weeks ago), running back (#2 behind Des Ward, but expected to be a change of pace/big play RB), Pre-season All-American Wide Receiver, another receiver (likely starter) we just got back 2 weeks ago after missing the entire season up to that point, preseason All -American CB, various other CB's missing games.  I'm sure I am missing some.

I do think this is a good discussion point and an interesting point brought up by 413.  I also think it's reasonable to expect UW-W to lose a couple games every now and then just cuz, not because something undesirable has crept into the program.

You know this is an interesting discussion, but I do not buy all of the coach speak.   What I want is athletic, skilled hard working blue collar winners!!!   If that is someone that "wants to win championships" or someone "who wants to knock people off".....I don't care.   Let me ask a question.   If you are recruited by the current National Champion.....then what do you want?   You can't go knock someone off....because you are at the top!   

This is nothing but hyperbole.   Bleed makes a great observation about the injuries the team had, but in my opinion we have not always had the people on the field who would do anything to win.....you know, the Lane Olson's of the world.    I probably better stop....otherwise, I might start sounding like Emma17

Though I rarely post, I've been lurking here for at least five years.  I'm not going anywhere.  I find it less painful to go and bang my head against the wall than to argue with Whitewater fans.

If you really have been lurking for five years and keeping up, then I think you should have been able to see that few UWW fans are saying Whitewater is great this year.  In fact the majority of the posting this season has been more of concern, sometimes critical, and always analytical. 

The "ifs and buts" statement certainly appeared to have some attitude attached, so I responded in kind. 

Please feel free to extoll the merits of your team, you certainly have some good things to say.
