Great posts 413 and WarhawkDad, and others as well.

WarhawkDad I feel for you and the other parents that were so hopeful to see your kids in the playoffs again- I know it's especially sad for you, and of course the players and coaching staff.  In your gratitude for the experience your son has had and your respect for what it took for the program to achieve what it has, you continue to show great class.  This applies to you as well 413.

For me, I am no less fired up today than I was at the start of the season.  None of us thought this would last forever, not even Mt Union ever.  This season reminds us just how hard it is, and how fun it is to see it happen.  I look forward to watching this program come back strong- like a certain Irish-Catholic program that hails from the state of IN.

I want to thank 02 for giving us a venue and all of you who have viewed them.  I know that they weren't very good but we had fun doing them and I hope that we've been able to give some of the athletes around the league recognition by mentioning them.   We do plan on picking them up again next year if 02 is agreeable.

Thanks again.

Absolutely. Thanks for do it!

413,

Great post! Despite a tougher than expected season, the Warhawk faithful still have much to enjoy
over the past 8 years with anticipation for next season. Keep the boards active and some of us from the other purple will help as well. You don't win four titles without having a great program, players
and all those dedicated supporters!  :) :) :) +k

You know, ever since I was a teenager and suffered some personal tragedy, through other events that have been tough to swallow, I have always looked at life thinking "Enjoy life as much as possible - there are no guarantees".

I have brought two wives (not at the same time!!) and both my adult kids to the Perk for games.  My son has come many times, and even rode the fan bus to Salem with me.  I have apparel from every championship season and I wear them as often as possible.  And I'm going to continue to do so.  It's been great, absolutely great.

So this season hasn't worked out as well.  Yeah, it's a bummer.  But I look forward to 2013.  Heck, why wouldn't I?  Why wouldn't all Warhawk fans?  See you at the Perk on Saturday.   :)
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

I just wanted to let those of you who have been viewing Randy and my WIAC weekly wrap that we will not be doing them for the rest of the season.  Lest you think so the reason isn't because the WARHAWKS season has gone as it has but rather personal and business things are preventing me from having the time to put them together for the next couple of weeks.  On the personal side I will be leaving for a vacation next weekend (Aruba) and won't be returning until after the LaCrosse game.  Business wise I'm really busy this week getting things organized for the time I'll be gone and my staff person is leaving the day after I return so I'll be swamped then too.  I just don't have the time now and I won't once I get back.

I want to thank 02 for giving us a venue and all of you who have viewed them.  I know that they weren't very good but we had fun doing them and I hope that we've been able to give some of the athletes around the league recognition by mentioning them.   We do plan on picking them up again next year if 02 is agreeable.

I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the reports and will look forward to them next year.   You and 02 do a great job of keeping WIAC fans informed.

Great posts by Hawk fans as well as Retagent, Wesleydad, Raider 68 and others.  It's good to see the solid support and great perspective regarding all UW-W has accomplished on this run and the anticipation of the future as well.  As far as Saturday, I hadn't seen the game yet, so I haven't posted.  I was working Saturday and checked the live stats at halftime.  The stat that jumped out at me at halftime was penalties. Ten for UW-W and zero for UW-SP!  That's a whole lot of potential drive killing (for UW-W) or drive-helping (for UW-SP if defensive penalties) mistakes for a half!

Anyway, I hope to be posting over the next few weeks as well.  I have never done much posting in the off-season, but I will try to do better this year!

I appreciate you all!  D3boards and D3football.com are a great community and place for us to make more of our passion for D3 football/sports.

Thanks so much, 68.  You have been a great friend and support for me and my son, on the board and behind the scenes, for the last 3 years.  Sorry there will be no 8th rematch against the mighty Raiders this December but those of us on this side of the great rivalry can take great solace in one thing.  When the long run finally came to an end, the WARHAWKS led the title match-ups, 4 to 3.    ;) :D ;D

What bothers me the most, is this place is going to turn into a ghost-town by the middle of November with Whitewater missing the postseason....

I'll still be here!  8-)

So, once a team knows it's out of the playoffs, what do they do for the balance of the season in terms of personnel?
Are wins and losses important?
Does a team now have to think about finding a balance between letting seniors get as many plays in their last games and young players getting valuable minutes?

Will UWO fans take over the WIAC board?

These questions are good for you non UWW WIAC people- like the Oshkosh fans that act like your entitled to the throne.  smile.

Just think what the Whitewater nation would have been like if you'd have been on the short end of that game instead of Buffalo State.
Does B.ST. SOS go down now?

Well......

If I am a UWW coach, this would be time to experiment with personnel.   Unfortunately the number of injuries limits that as well.   You need to have your best line in to protect your starter, at least for a while, but I would certainly look at more receivers and backs.

On defense, we already have a fairly deep rotation so not sure much would change.

Wins are always important, now for recruiting purposes as well as pride, but you can still use more personnel.
