I know we should stay on "our own board", but nature abhors a vacuum.   ;D

So much fun having you NWC/Linfield Cat fans coming over for a visit, D-Train, WC11, DC1 and D.O.C.  I have just been sharing with the guys how awesome our visit was there in 05! Wonderfully kind fans in the parking lot sharing food and drink with us, friendly folks everywhere from the hotels to the restaurants, etc.  It was an unforgettable game resulting in great mutual respect between the two programs.  I will support the UW-O Titans as far as they can go, first and foremost, but I love the Cats and their fans and they will also have my support!

purple or PURPLE?   413 ?

We like to do want we can to help the board. ::)

What bothers me the most, is this place is going to turn into a ghost-town by the middle of November with Whitewater missing the postseason....

I'll still be here!  8-)
And I for one hope you will be here until December 15th!

WarhawkDad
Me too!  If we are all going to stick around for awhile after the Hawks' season is finished, it's the least oshfb can do to stick around a week or two after the Titans are done.  ;D
And nothing would make bleed happier than UWO taking an early exit!!!  It's that "attitude" that makes it easy for some around here to pull for anyone but Whitewater.  (No offense to guys like WarhawkDad and others who are jumping on the WIAC train and pulling for UWO to be succesful.)

I wouldn't go that far.  One of the benefits (consolations) to me of UW-O advancing in the playoffs would be earning the WIAC respect. I want the WIAC to have as much respect as possible.  I have my reasons for not rooting for UW-O, but I wouldn't say "nothing would make me happier than UW-O taking an early exit."  For example, a MOUNT UNION early exit!  ;)  And for the record, if UW-O makes it to the Stagg against Mount, I will be rooting for UW-O.

And my reasons for not pulling for UW-O to get that far aren't personal, but more pragmatic.  For goodness sakes, Russ Young was my father's college roommate and he lived with us for two weeks a year for about 10 years.  He was a great guy and one of he funniest guys I've ever met.  So, nothing personal against UW-O. And definitely nothing against the WIAC.  Just being honest in who I will be rooting for, that's all. I am rooting for a semi of Linfield, UMHB, UW-O, and ABMU. Then I would like Linfield vs UMHB Stagg Bowl.  And then I"ll be rooting for the Cats to take home the Walnut and Bronze

QuoteTake two from the strongest conferences...expand the playoffs.  Why?Because...the WIAC will continue to beat up on each other all season long. Fewer and fewer teams will opt in for a non-conference game against us.  The result is the WIAC has to take on each other and the strongest of strong non conference opponents....while other conferences feast on low hanging fruit to fatten their records.  Ok I'm done... Except to say Good Luck to the WIAC this weekend.  BRING IT!

Boy, I can remember not so long ago (maybe it was) that before UWW DOMINATED the WIAC for 5 consecutive years and won their National Titles that the WIAC had a tragic playoff record considering their reputation as the best conference in DIII.  Maybe we should wait a few years and see if the other WIAC teams not named Whitewater start bringing home bronze and gold before we start climbing up on high horses.
Excluding Whitewater's 10-year post-season record of 33-6, with four titles, and a pair of runner ups, the WIAC has been 21-18 in NCAA post-season play, with two national titles... I don't consider that a tragic playoff record...

TrackFan...Wildcat11 beat me to it (he carries a computer under his chin much akin to Bob Dylan and his mouth harp) so this is an echo.

QuoteUWW is one of the main reasons the WIAC garners respect!

The only reason for WIAC respect.
Did you know before 2005 many considered the WIAC the home of the pasture playing beefy lineman who could be left in their high tops by just a little technique?
So true.  I started posting on the boards during the season in 05 and when we started the play-off run, the boards were full of comments from the MIAC, Cat and Raider fans like, "the WIAC players are just big, fat and slow," "they'll be one and done," and my personal favorite. "No WIAC team will ever be playing football in December."   That was some of the tamer comments, I might add.   :D

This is the Titan's chance to prove that there is more than one team in this conference who can make some noise at the national level.

Of course I'd love to see UWO play and win the Stagg.  I'd have to guess that it would more likely be Linfield vs. NCC.
