This has been a tough middle to end of the year for the Eagles.  In years past they have been beaten up with injuries to the lines which has made it pretty tough to be successful.  This year is the opposite with their best skill position players out with injuries for multiple games if not the entire season.  Bilderback, Hertrampf and now Stan have all missed games and are players the Eagles have counted on.  Someone new needs to step up against RF if they are going to win.

With all the injuries for UWL and UWW, it should make for an interesting game next weekend in La Crosse ;). UWW has all three of its preseason All Americans on the injured list. Timm and Huber were out for the season before it even got cold outside.

Plus, in that same Oshkosh game, UWW lost their best linebacker (Wismer). Not to mention our offensive senior captain is (presumably) perfectly healthy, but now sitting on the bench because he hasn't been meeting expectations (which I 100% agree with).

BTW that element should be pretty good, the team regularly helps at the food pantry, visits to veterans hospitals and with clothing drives and things of that nature so Wara should have his bases covered in that respect as well.

I got a tweet from UWO Athletics saying: His volunteering includes bike-helmet fitting, Boys & Girls Club, Old Glory Honor Flights, YMCA and Career Fair.

Very disappointing.  While a school cannot be responsible for choices their students make, this kind of publicity is not anything a program wants.

While I don't agree with this over simplification of UWW athletes, the UWW administration, for at least a short time, will have to work on a public perception problem that they are home to thieves, thugs, and druggies. Hopefully there won't be another incident and they can get this behind them.  We all know these type of things also happen in the general student population and those events aren't considered newsworthy.  Success comes with a cost.
Really?  We have over 10,000 students on campus and hundreds and hundreds of student-athletes.   The problems of one or two should, in no way, be allowed to cast a shadow over the vast majority of UWW students and athletes.  Don't make me start a google search about bad behavior regarding other schools and programs................. >:(

footballfan413:  Don't get your panties in a bunch.  We all agree on this matter.  Read what was written.

I'm going to get right to it on this one.  Not used to 413 being treated like this on this board and I'm not liking it. IMHO you owe 413 an apology Warthog.  >:(

I think bleedpurple and FF413 would have responded to "Warty" that way regardless of UWW's record.

I'll gladly apologize to FF413 as soon as I figure out what was offensive.  I basically agreed what most people were writing:

1) It is an unfortunate incident
2) It isn't representative of the university
3) It becomes a public relations problem since the accused is a high profile student/athlete
4) It is a short term problem
5) It wouldn't be a headline if someone in the history club was arrested

If there was anything beyond that read into the post it was unintentional.

Hey folks as much as I just love the legalization debate raging on a discussion board dedicated to WIAC football can we please get back on track. UWO should be able to roll the next 2 weeks but when the playoffs start clearly things are going to get tougher. Is there anything you all have seen that might hurt the Titans come playoff time?

Raging debate- where?

I think uwo's offense will serve them very well against the better teams. They dont run the style of option that exposes the ball as much. Their option perfectly compliments their strong passing game. I'll be surprised if they can't score enough to win as long as the defense holds. IMO the defense is the question as you haven't seen the likes of NCC, mhb, linfield, Wesley or Mt.

Don't sweat it, WH.  No apology needed.  BP usually has his tongue-in-cheek with most of his posts, anyway. All these boys are great friends of mine and I know they always have my back.  One of my defenders was a Mount Union poster, BTW.  But everyone of them also know, very well, that I can take care of myself.  Now, about the possibility of reporting you for sexual harassment................that is is still on the table.   ;) :D 8-)

Well, for this Satuday against Eau Claire, I believe it will be a ground battle, which should favor UWW.   With that said, our offense has to improve, the penalties have to stop and receivers have to catch the ball.  On the ground UWW only allows 47 yards a game and Eau Claire allows 157.   The question is, which UWW will show up.

WarhawkDad

WDad, I was able to catch some of the game on the audio stream. As I'm sure most were, I was surprised w the lack of points by the O. Obviously the pick 6 and a fumbled exchange were poor plays by Behrendt, but did he look very different than he did vs UWO?
It sounded like perhaps he wasn't as accurate?  Also I didn't get the feeling he tried to go deep as he did vs UWO. Can you give a report?
We moved the ball well.   He was not quite as accurate, we just could not execute in the red-zone.  Too many penalties, false starts, and at least 3-4 mishandled snaps.  We ran the ball well.  I thought we had lack of rhythm in play calling.   The statistics dramatically favor UWW.

Last thing.   All season long Emma has been asking if doing the punting and placekicking has hurt the accuracy of Kindler.   I think something has.   If Eric hit all of his attempts UWW would have only one loss and might still be undefeated.    While I know that it is not totally fair, given distance, wind and weather, I think it makes the point that UWW has not fallen that far.

Against UWSP - 2 plays made the difference in the game.   The pick 6 and the long pass over the top.  Otherwise UWSP is shutdown except for a field goal.

So I am encouraged for the balance of the season and especially for next year.

Programs seem to be placed more and more under the microscope as they become successful. If this happened to Whitewater 10 years ago, very few DIII fans (outside the WIAC) would have bat an eye at the news of a former UWW player getting busted for drugs. I guarantee the warthogs, the D.O.C.s, the HSCoachs wouldn't have wasted their time posting here about it.

I repectfully disagree-one of our ex-UMU players(played last year) got himself in a worse mess than your guy did and several posts were made regarding said offense on our board.  I agree its not earth shattering news.... kinda gossipy to make a big deal out of it, but its just a downside of the internet and all the instant media coverage. I am so old I remember when it took 2 days to get game info/box scores when my yankees played los angles angels     now 20 minutes after the game there's a news conference live on tv with microphones shoved in everyone's faces

Ultimately, if you become a Galiardi finalist, the true decision has to be the amount and impact of community service.  At least that is my take-away having attended the cermonies.
