Oshkosh QB Nate Wara needs 120 total yards to reach 10,000 yards for his career. Just 3 players have done that in WIAC history.

Anyone happen to know who the other three are?

I think he'd be the third:

14,847--Kirk Baumgartner (STP), 1986-89
10,107--Reed Giordana (STP), 1974-77
Your missing Tom Stetzer of Platteville who finished with 10,054 from 2000-03.

then so is the WIAC records page, because that's where I looked. It lists him as fourth:
9,518--Dave Geissler (STP), 1982-85
9,504--Tom Stetzer (PLT), 2000-03

http://www.wiacsports.com/documents/2010/6/18/FootballCareerRecords.pdf?id=78

UWP's record book lists the 10,054 figure as total yards, with 9,555 for his career passing yards.
Notice my original post says "total yards" not passing yards.....

A big thank you to all that wished me a happy 61st birthday Thursday via Facebook.

A special thank you to the UWW football team who ended practice by singing Happy Birthday to me as I was at practice. Pretty cool!!

The day ended with me driving to Waukesha to have my birthday dinner at Golden Corral. Oops - I forgot that cancer patients on chemo can't eat big meals. My night is ending "praying to the porcelen god (toilet). The food was good while it was still with me!!!

Here's hoping he runs/throws for 228yds to get into 2nd place all-time in the WIAC!

Not looking good UWP:

WEST
1 Linfield 7-0 8-0
2 Wisconsin-Oshkosh 8-0 9-0
3 St. Thomas (Minn.) 9-0 9-0
4 Cal Lutheran 7-1 7-1
5 Coe 9-0 9-0
6 Pacific Lutheran 6-2 6-2
7 Bethel (Minn.) 7-2 7-2
8 Concordia-Moorhead 6-2 7-2
9 Wisconsin-Platteville 7-2 7-2
10 Lake Forest 8-1 8-1

No way this will hold up as a region in the playoffs though. Three potential No. 1 seeds in the same region  :o

UWP needs some magic this weekend:
- Huntingdon to lose to Adrian
- Cal Lutheran to beat Chapman
- Pacific Lutheran to lose to Menlo
- Ohio Wesleyan or Wittenberg to lose (However, it would be even better if they both lose).
- Bridgewater to lose to Mass Maritime
- Wheaton* to lose to North Park - not going to happen
- Elmhurst to lose to Ill Wesleyan
- Baldwin-Wallace to beat Heidelberg
- Widener to beat Delware Valley
- Bethel* to lose to St. Johns
- Concordia-Moorhead to lose to Gustavus Adolphus
- Carroll to beat Illinois College
- And, of course, don't let Point win

You can bet on some majic taking place this weekend....

This is no guarantee that everything is perfect... but BoBo was online yesterday. So at least he (or someone) is lurking.

Non football post here.  I had the pleasure of watching the UWW women's volleyball team play a first round playoff game vs. Thomas Moore at Elmhurst College.  The UWW women showed great skill and heart as they took game five in overtime.  The level of intensity and excitement was sky high as both teams played very well.  UWW has some big hitters- very fun to watch.  They play again Saturday evening.
I also heard the UWW women's soccer team won their playoff game Friday afternoon- congrats to them too.  They play Wheaton Saturday afternoon.

Go Hawks.

Johnston and Ruchti are some of the better Middle Blockers I've seen. Johnston's ability to control the net largely be herself is fun to watch.
