Go ahead and pencil UWO into Rd 2. Nice draw vv. St. Scholastica.

Hopefully we'll be seeing each other in two weeks, but Bethel will need to take care of Concordia-Chicago first, who I know almost nothing about  :-\

It seems likely anyway.  A seemingly good draw for UWO.  Based on posts from others, Conc-Chi should be a victory for Bethel, setting up a very good second round game if things go according to plan.

I think he's arguing that based on the Bethel-UST result, should UWO and Bethel face off in Rd 2, Bethel will be a pushover for UWO.

I honestly don't get why the team from Duluth is coming to Oshkosh while the team from De Pere has to go to the twin cities. Why not just flip the two? Anyway, what do people know about CSS football? That is what can the Titans expect Saturday?

Expect to dominate them in every phase.

Last year CSS was undefeated in the UMAC and had a QB who led all D3 in pass efficiency. UST annihilated them. This year they already have two losses. I would be surprised if they stayed within 35 points of the Titans. Playing the UMAC schedule simply does not prepare them for the playoffs. Their last 4 opponents were all average to bad teams in D3's worst conference. The jump in competition is simply going to be too sharp.

So Platteville loses to two top 10 teams (at the time), and they should have won the Whitewater game, and they get to stay home. Again, the conference cancels itself out of the playoffs. What a darned shame, they seem to be really playing well now and are most likely the best 8-2 team in the country. What a shame. The one year the Warhawks stumble, it would have been great to get two teams that NEVER go to the playoffs the opportunity to shine.

It pains me. but go Titans.....go.

As for why SNC goes west, it would appear SNC is a lower seed than CSS, and UST is a higher seed than UWO. But that's just a guess.

I might differ wth you and posit that maybe either, or both, Bethel and Concordia-Moorhead is in that discussion as to who is the best 8-2 team in the country. Have you seen either? I've seen UWW, and they weren't that good this year, and they beat UW-P.

My guess is there are quite a few really good 8-2 teams out there and I imagine UWP, Bethel and C-M are right up there with them all.
Hopefully UWO and Bethel will advance and we will at least get a chance to see a top WIAC team vs. a top MIAC team this year.

I had a feeling that was his point but I wasn't sure and didn't want to assume.  If that is desert's point, that's not really addressing my reasoning behind using margin of loss as one criteria for differentiating Pool C candidates that have very similar records.
