Gotta love irony. Greg Carlson, the St. Scholastica head coach, is a UW-Oshkosh alum.

I do love irony. But this isn't an example of it.  ;D

More like a coincidence that was possibly schemed cleverly by the NCAA committee

The NCAA committee is not that clever.  ;)

Also my congrats to Jimmy, WD.  A well deserved honor.

Voice, could you be so kind as to post a link to your WARHAWK basketball blog for me?

569 to be exact and he rushed for 162 yards!  WOW!  An amazing offensive performance.  And just drives home the point of how important a terrific QB can be to a teams record.   ;D 8-)  My daughter-in-law and many of her friends are Husky Alumni.

They were "clever" in Whitewater's No.2 seed in 2010  >:(   ;)

As an NIU grad, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the game last night.  Lynch is an absolute stud.  If he was from a more well known school, he would get serious Heisman consideration.

I know All Conference selections do not always follow the final conference standings, but it is surprising to see La Crosse have fewer players represented than SP, RF and Stout whom La Crosse all beat.  Also surprising to see players that were all conference last year not make the squad this year as seniors.

I'm not saying they are better or should replace any specific players who made it this year, it's just interesting to see how much things change from year to year.  Congrats to all players selected and good luck to Oshkosh in the playoffs.  We are all rooting for you!

Here's a little writeup about St. Scholastica and what they bring to Oshkosh this Saturday.

While doing some research about the Saints I found an interesting quote from their coach. "We're still a relatively young program," Carlson said. "We learned against St. Thomas, we're a long step away from being from that level. But now we had a 10-0 season last year that gave our guys credibility and being selected this year to be in playoff. Now maybe will be getting some of those kids that would go to St. Thomas or Whitewater or one of the top Division III schools. (This year) kind of erases 'Oh that was one time: That was a fluke.' Now, maybe some of those (undecided) kids will put St. Scholastica on their short list for visits."

I don't think they are quite to that stage yet (at least I hope not), but I can appreciate his optimism.

I have often postulated that irony is a criterion when making up the pairings. Not sure this qualifies but it is a nice storyline.

He ruined my night.  I fully planned to get to sleep early and made the mistake of turning the tv for a brief moment.  Lynch's performance was amazing, no way I could turn it off.

Struggling in my bracket...Oshkosh or Linfield, Oshkosh of Linfield......
