Anyone know the story behind Cerroni's "REMEMBER UW-LAX" cap?

Great hat. Assuming it's a reminder of their lax loss to Lax last year.

Could be the last trip UWLAX went to the CATDOME? :'(

Those boys need to stop at A Walmart and pick up a shirt & Tie??   :o

I have been watching this board over the past week and it seems like many believe Oshkosh is coming in as the underdog.  Personally, I don't know a lot about Linfield, other than their field is called the "Catdome", so I went looking for some numbers to compare.  In my opinion (and I know games are not played on paper!), Oshkosh will fare just fine against Linfield this weekend and will make it to the Final Four.

Notable National ranks:
Rush offense (rainy forecast): Osh 14th, Lin140th
Total offense: Osh 9th, Lin 32nd
Scoring offense: Osh 11th, Lin 7th
Total defense: Osh 25th, Lin 29th
TO margin (wet conditions with a team that loves to sling it around): Osh 11th, Lin 45th
Sacks: Osh 23rd, Lin 1st
Sacks allowed: Osh 68th, Lin 116th

Obviously there are other categories not listed, but I think these listed (especially rush offense and TO margin) are most crucial to Oshkosh coming out with a win.  My official prediction: Oshkosh 28- Linfield 14 (please feel free to respond!)

Gig has been carrying on all week that Linfield will have this game in the bag at halftime.

Guess we'll find out tomorrow.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Linfield could be playing the Packers tomorrow and GHC would say Linfield would have it in the bag by half.

LOL, yup, that is what I love about him!  Always the optimist!  But, hey, you gotta believe it to achieve it.  ;)

Nothing wrong with a little biased thinking!  Honestly, that is what I believe.  Oshkosh takes care of business and advances!  Hail Titans!

Exactly...during those years Whitewater just seemed happy to be there.
Sorry, 02, to contradict you on this point and maybe it seemed like that from the outside, but as a parent of a starter and defensive leader on the 05 and 06, (and 07,) team, I can tell you, that those boys and their staff, fully expected to win those games!!  They were not just happy to be there.  Now, was the national stage and playing on ESPN for the first time somewhat intimidating, of course, but I would say that those losses had more to do with being a little out-coached, (who doesn't LK out-coach?)  and not being able to win the LOS.  Regarding 17's question, I will say that a key player or two played the worst games I have ever seen them play on that day in 05 and 06 for whatever reason.  But, as a whole, the team and staff knew they belonged and that luck had very little to do with why they made those trips to Salem. They expected to win in 05 and thought they would go back and remedy that mistake in 06.   I still feel bad for the 06 seniors who never did feel the joy of raising the Walnut and Bronze but who I credit most with blazing the trail to the nation level and Stagg Bowls.  Just my $.02        ;) 8-)

Yea, you're probably right. I was just trying to justify why they lost, without giving Mount too much credit  ;D

And that's a sound strategy.
So 413, my question is not so much about whether a team is unsure they can win/belong, but more about was the attitude prior to the game possibly too lax, too loose- which perhaps led into a couple players not playing to their ability?  As you alluded to, it only takes one or two key players to have an off-game.

There is always a fine balance between being loose and too loose.  It's amazing though how critically important execution becomes in these big games.  IMO that may have been the biggest change between 05/06 and 2007 for UWW.
That change was the result of finally winning the LOS, IMHO.  It opened up everything for us and allowed us time to execute well while they had a QB running for his life instead of throwing completions to their future NFL wide receiver for the first time in three meetings.

I will be very shocked if the Cats only score 14 pts.  Aside from that, I expect a battle.
Go Cats!

We remember LAX when they came to the Catdome, it was a beatdown, and a long flight home for them..
