My karma taking a "ding" today....

Guess the WIACDOME comment wasn't so funny!!!!  :-\
I did think it was a little harsh and definitely...........too soon!  I don't smite people, only hit the applaud karma button but I'll give ya one now.   ;)
Fair enough.....

However my thoughts are that if you are willing to give it all week (Phone it in, purple frisbees, Catdome, etc..) you better be able to take it when things don't go your way....

Oh well, not the first time something I posted on a message board didn't get the desired outcome.

Hey Cubby,,  3-3  it's still the CATDOME . 8-)  Where the so cal boys(sciac) come to die.. :D

The Linfield group likes to talk smack and generally have fun on the boards before a game. As far as taking it when things don't go your way, did you read all the congratulatorry comments from Cat fans towards Osh Kosh? And to NC after the win over the Cardinals? Again Cat fans like to mix it up, but will be right there to give credit where credit is due and props to ourstanding coaching and players. Good luck Titans.

Another big win for the UW-O Titans. Keep it going and win another title for the WIAC.

agreed(except for the last part of your post)
Oshkosh is what I call a "trick or treat" team- you guys can look uh not so good for a a few series , yet turn on the afterburners and walk away from a good team . I watched the first part of Bethel game and it was painful to watch, yet oshkosh wins, watched part of UWW game and y'all had a bad stretch yet won THAT one. Saw the Linfield video and that had flat spots.... yet you guys won them all. I enjoyed the 2 years we opened with oshkosh-the game at your place was my son's first varsity start and -for first few series he was so tight you couldn't have pulled a pin outta his butt with a tractor. No disrespect to  your semi-final opponent-I just hope Mount GETS to the stagg bowl-but I hope we play you for third time in three years. Your stadium was nice, fans were friendly-now, realize in those two games mount played you, oshkosh had the slight advantage of having played a game, while we "opened" with you. I just think it would be a good match up, would look good on a national stage and have the "  darn it, the same conference for 8 years" angle as an added storyline.........again, mount is going to have it's handsful this saturday as I am sure oshkosh will

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but if I were Mount, I would prefer to play the Tommies.

I must admit that I had some serious doubts in the fourth quarter with Oshkosh down 15.  However, this game really defined what the program at Oshkosh has become.  The evolution of the scheme, coaching, and player mentality over the past few years came to head in the fourth quarter at the Catdome.  The first three quarters were an afterthought and a clean slate was created to make that comeback.  Oshkosh was highly opportunistic and seemed much more composed than the Cats.  At times Linfield appeared to be on their heels, which surprised me given their experience in the playoffs and the confidence they should have acquired throughout the first three quarters.  It does help having the best QB in the nation on your team, there is no doubt, but this was a true team win and I couldn't be more excited to head up to St. Thomas next weekend to see the guys play for a birth in the Stagg Bowl!  Congrats to both teams on a hard fought game!

Moving forward, how do you guys think Oshkosh matches up with St. Thomas?

I've had a chance to review this year's UWL stats with those from last year, and have some observations. All figures are for conference games only. As stated several times this season, the UWL Offensive line seemed to have underperformed, at least relative to my expectations. The team gained 165.1 ypg rushing last season, good for 3rd in the WIAC. This year's squad slipped to 7th on only 100.7 ypg. In addition, UWL took 33 sacks this year, which was the most in the conference. Interestingly, the team retained the 6th place position in scoring, though with .5 fewer pts than last year (16.6 from 17.1) I note  that the QB's took more sacks than any other teams' QB's last year (29) as well. UWL made up for most of the rushing decline by improving the passing stats, moving from last to 3rd in passing yards (153.3 to 216.9 ypg) Coach Dettwiler has the "run first" philosophy which I like, but it seems that Andy Sires had to make up for a lack of rushing success with his arm. The Eagles moved from 6th to 4th in pass efficiency, and tied for 2nd fewest Int's this season. I had failed to appreciate Sires' season until I looked closely at the numbers. While the defense seemed to carry the team at times, it is interesting to note that unit fell from 4th to T5th in scoring defense(22.1 to 25.7ppg) and from 5th to 6th in total defense. Pass defense declined more markedly from 5th to 7th, allowing an additional 45ypg. The stats reflect the blowout losses to Oshkosh and Platteville, which were the lowlights of the season. Kickoff coverage showed significant progress, as the team moved from 7th to 2nd in that category. Lastly, we were fortunate that the place kicking didn't cost us a game, as only 11 of 15 PAT's and 3 of 6 FG's split the uprights. This is an area that plainly needs to improve.

Anyone know the style of Offense Oshkosh operates?

KitchenSink

No huddle, pistol/shotgun, wide open with option running and vertical passing.  QB Wara is a monster.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!
