A little late on this, but I echo 68's sentiments on the wishing of good luck to the new coach at Carroll. It appears that he has taken on a challenge.
Thanks, retagent,  This is his 3rd coaching job, DC at Janesville Craig, and LB coach at Waukesha South, and both those positions were a, "challenge," in terms of the programs win/loss records, if that is what you are referring to, but that does not concern him.  As a coach, he has always had his priorities on point.  It is about teaching and creating great young men, first and foremost!  Very proud of him.   8-)

On the other hand, maybe he'll do such a fabulous job, no one could possibly find anything wrong to complain about??  [/size]  ;) :D ;D ;D ;D

You may need to rethink that one.  ;)
LOL.................that is why I added a TON of smileys and, "whispered," it by lowering the font!!    ;) :D ;D

That is what I meant, and it appears that he knows what is important. Thanks for reinforcing that.

I know in the past we have debated on "why" athletes might be attracted to UW-W. Forgive me if this has been posted before, but I just ran across it. I think it definitely answers some of those questions.

Hilarious  :D  If that doesn't bring them in droves I don't know what else could.  Though someone should tell the author that we don't have a children's hospital.

DIII football and the WIAC gets some national "love"....as a Blugold is listed by CBSSports.com as a "Speed Freak" :)

Yep. He's fast - he anchored the UWEC track/field team that took 2nd in the NCAA outdoor championships recently. He won a gold in the 100-meter dash in 10.7761 seconds (edging out his opponent by .007 seconds) and took second in the 200-meter to the same opponent (Sean Bernstein, Oneonta). Dennis also anchored the Blugolds' 4x400 meter relay team, which took first with a time of 3:09.21...

Perhaps the spelling teacher could mention it to him.  ;D

Spend the afternoon at Warner Park watching the Madison Mallards and the Green Bay BullFrogs with Mrs BW, the two daughters and grandson.  The Mallards are becoming a family father's day tradition.

Hmm, either you spent the afternoon at a pond or these are sports teams I'm not aware of. Whatever the case, I hope you had a great Father's Day.

Both teams are members of a summer collegiate wood bat league called the Northwoods League.  There is a WARHAWKS and a Pointer player on the BullFrogs though neither played yesterday.  It is generally considered one of the best collegiate summer leagues in the nation and all of the team's rosters are loaded with D1 athletes.  As an aside they do have a seating area they call the Duck Pond at the park.

It was a great Father's Day albeit hot and humid.

Thanks 413 and Congrats to A.J. and the whole family.   Did not have access to the Boards while spending a week up on Leech.   Thought of you as I drove by the Highway 2/200 split.

The Northwoods League offers a fun family environment, with lots to do to keep youngsters busy in between innings...
Speaking of the league - Former La Crosse Logger pitcher Max Scherzer won again tonight to bring his record this season to a perfect 10-0 for the Detroit Tigers. He's just the second in club history to do so, and the first big leaguer to get off to that kind of start since Rocket Clemens in 1997...

I love wood bat games- I'll take the crack of the bat compared to the ping of the bat any day.
