I have no knowledge of the affairs in WI, but this process often involves putting your name out there to get benefits at the current employer.    Whether it be more cash, more power, or just more approval.   Always nice to hear how much you're appreciated.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Honestly, it would be hard for UWW to give Plinske any more love or cash than they already do. No matter how good he is, there is a ceiling on just how much you can pay a D-III AD before the Board of Regents begins to object.

Plus, from what I know of Paul, he's not the type to flirt with other schools if he wasn't serious about it.

Oshkosh's Cole Myra (RB), Platteville's Ryley Bailey (WR) and WARHAWKS Loussiant Minett (DE) have been named to the D3Football.com's Preseason All American Team.  Myra and Bailey are first team, Minnett the second team.

While I think it's better to be named to the post season team it's still neat to be recognized.

A huge congrats to the three WIAC'ers!  Pre-season, in my mind, just meant that you were on everyone's radar as far as being a potential AA after the season.  Put together a great showing and you can be comfortable knowing that it, probably, will be rewarded and not go unnoticed. There are so many players at this level and many great ones that it is an important first step, to make enough noise so they know your name and are watching.  I don't know anyone who ever claimed to be a, "Preseason AA."   ;)

Can you believe what BWH posted over on the MIAC boards?

Some  believe the WIAC is the best DIII conference in the country.  I think they're wrong.  Clearly the MIAC is vastly superior. Why I know for a fact that the last place team in the MIAC could easily beat the first place team in the WIAC.  There's no doubt about it.  It wouldn't even be close.  In fact it should be forbidden in the name of sportsmanship if for no other reason.  This is true not only in football but in every other sport that matters and those that don't matter too.  It isn't easy to confess this.  It's taken me a long time to come to this point.  But I just can't deny it and look at myself in the mirror any longer.  All hail the MIAC.  The rest of us are just pretenders.

If this doesn't increase my karma I give up.

To put my post in the context  of their board.   Evidently they've exhausted their discussion of beer and ice fishing is clearly out of season.  Not that many people are interested in rugby or whatever sport that is they talk about in Australia.  Even St Thomas bashing gets old after a while.  So they've been discussing karma with a St Thomas newbie.  I've been stuck in my office all day for the past two days (god forbid) so I thought I'd make an obvious attempt to gather up some positive karma.   At any rate I can't believe that kissing up to them like that only got me one stupid positive karma point.  Apparently they've seen through my ruse.  I probably should have seen this coming.  After all they have been educated in private schools.  ;)  LOL

Another day and I'm stuck in here till 5:00 pm again.  God only knows what I'll do today.

Matt Blanchard is motivated and ready to go as Chicago Bears' training camp is underway at Mount Olivet College in Bourbonnais, Illinois. The Bears arrived in camp Wednesday and on the way into town the former UW-Whitewater Warhawk quarterback tweeted: "Been too long Bourbonnais. Couldn't wait to get down here... Let it begin!!"

Chicago Tribune Bears' beat writer Brad Biggs wrote a story yesterday on the impending backup quarterback job between Josh McCown and Blanchard. Biggs assessment of Matt's chances of landing a regular season roster spot is detailed in the final paragraph of the linked story...

What isn't true?  Obviously Hamline isn't beating anyone, but I don't think there's any doubt that the MIAC had a better 2012.  There's not much room for debate when a 3-5 (conference record) St. John's wins at 4-3 Eau Claire, and Oshkosh manages only 25 yards rushing in the semi-finals.  If only the WIAC wasn't so afraid to schedule MIAC schools we might have more games to compare.... ;)

I know one MIAC program (a national champion contender) that was approached by a WIAC program (a national champion) and wanted no part in a  home and home arrangement.  But there are many reasons aside from fear that prevent this from happening.

There's little incentive for St. Thomas to take that game. Similar to Mount Union scheduling UWW in the regular season -- that didn't happen once UWW became a contender either.

I look forward to what St. John's might schedule now that John Gagliardi's travel restrictions are not an issue. I don't blame him for not wanting to spend a bunch of hours on the bus at his age, don't get me wrong, but now the Johnnies might vary up the schedule a bit.

You are correct sir!! It was the bus ride for Coach Gagliardi that prevented the WIAC vs MIAC match-up from happening. I too understand. Talking about bus rides... I remember John not being a big fan of St. Johns having to be bussed from Janesville (hotel location) to Whitewater in each of the postseason games between the two teams in playoff action at Perkins Stadium. In reality, the mileage and travel time was about the same as St. Cloud to Collegeville.
