Good news for Lance and congrats to him.
Perhaps HScoach was on to something regarding the interviews w other programs.

I know one MIAC program (a national champion contender) that was approached by a WIAC program (a national champion) and wanted no part in a  home and home arrangement.  But there are many reasons aside from fear that prevent this from happening.

There's little incentive for St. Thomas to take that game. Similar to Mount Union scheduling UWW in the regular season -- that didn't happen once UWW became a contender either.

For what it's worth, I think Whitewater would have to play a nearly flawless game to knock off St. Thomas....if they would play now.

Out of curiosity, why are top 5 programs reluctant to play a Whitewater? Seems like the risk would be equal for both sides. Especially now since whitewater seems to have more holes in their game than they did a couple years ago.

Absolutely agree.  That's why I said that there are many reasons that prevent it from happening.

As for top 5 teams scheduling each other, I don't see any reason a top team in a good conference would.  With tough top to bottom conference play there is too great a risk of a two loss season, and then your fate is determined by the committee.

It was a low key day.  Family picnic, Olbrich Gardens for the butterfly display and walking the grounds. Capped off with a trip to Vilas Zoo.  Nice to have us all together.

Whitewater must be desperate for filling out their schedule then....if they are reaching out to Top 5 teams and getting shot down.

Wow!! Wayne Field out on the edge of town.  What great memories. We lived out in the country a couple miles out of town. I remember back in 2nd or 3rd grade being able to hear, even though I wasn't able to go to the game, the Wayne Field PA announcer (Mr. Duesterbeck) on a Friday game night for the Panthers. I fell in love with being able to describe the game with my voice.  Hopefully I've been able to give other young fans that same "magical" feeling over the years.

I know you guys were kidding on the whole "Home of the Panthers" post but it just brought back those memories for me.  Thanks!!

After covering well over 1000 UWW football players over the years, being able to read success stories on those former players in their post-college years. I heard  that UW-Whitewater has a couple of ex-marines on the team with some eligibility left? Pretty cool if they do.... don't take it the wrong way I was just wondering if its true?
