WARHAWKS 2013 roster is posted.

http://uwwsports.com/roster.aspx?path=football&

47 Freshman, 29 Sophomores, 11 Juniors and 13 Seniors

I think the 100 player roster needed to be sent to the league office by tomorrow.

That's a lot of young players.

I see a Bernie's (our old FB) brother David made the team as a DL. Also I see another McCullough at DB...I assume his older brother was our previous DB?

With Patterson and Deichl we now have two sons (that I'm familar with) of former standout players. I know Deichl Sr was basketball, but he was a good football player too. Nice to see the torch being carried on.

One thing I noticed is some of the IL recruits come from strong high school programs here in the flatlands. Glenbard North, St. Rita, Main South, Mt Carmel and Montini. All are championship producing programs in recent years and consistently highly ranked. I like the pedigree.

I know this has been asked before, but I am new to the boards and to D3 football.  Will UWW post a 2013 roster before the first game?

Welcome. I gave you a "+", as a Howdy-do, since none of the Warhawk faithful did. Don't get accostomed to it. Someone else can explain.

Actually, someone did ... problem is someone else counteracted it.

I see exactly 1/3 of the roster is from the IL. Admissions office must be loving those out-of-state tuition checks coming in  ;)

Also, I remember hearing about this talented WR UWW got from Alabama a year or two ago...I don't see him on the roster. I take it he didn't pan out?

Exactly SIX players from Illinois were on the 100 man roster in 2003.  Only took multiple, national championships to get player's attention from,  "strong high school programs," here in the Chicago area, I guess.   ;D

If my memory serves me he was injured during fall camp last year and didn't make the final roster.

NewHawk

we will be attending our first UWW game Saturday.  Looks like the WIAC is stacked this year.  I am using the boards (as well as The Voices podcast and blogs) to get up to speed on the conference and the teams.  It will be interesting to see how the young O Line performs.

A further breakdown of the 2013 UWW Roster:

65 from Wisconsin
33 from Illinois
  1 from Michigan
  1 from Indiana

The offense will be young. The two-deep indicates just one senior starter (Tyler Huber) on Saturday vs. Wash U.  18 of the 22 on the offensive two-deep are underclassmen

Kudos to Tom F., Angela and the gang at UWW Sports Information. This year's game-week PDF is in color and is formatted extremely well. Thanks!!

The Chicago Bears yesterday terminated the practice squad contract of QB Jerrod Johnson. Hopefully, this portends the practice squad addition of former UWW QB Matt Blanchard when his injury settlement expires after the 10th game of the season.

The principal variables that might negatively effect that possibility are 1) whether the Bears decide they need a QB on the practice squad at all, 2) if they do want a practice squad QB, do they feel they can wait until after the 10th week to add one, and 3) whether Cutler or McCown are injured prior to the 10th week. Lets hope the verdict is option #2.  :)

No Steve Morris on the two-deep?
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!
