Here is some film for UWW fans to watch and form opinions upon.

I find it's hard to look at highlights and get a feel for what a team can do.  For instance, some of the touchdowns look like they come pretty easy, however, we don't know what type of plays were run preceding the touchdowns that probably set the defense up.

I do see Buff State is susceptible to the slant route for a TD at the goal line- plays right into our hands- oh wait, never mind.  >:(

Passing teams are more dangerous to UWW then running teams.  Teams with mobile QB's that can pass are an even bigger fear as it forces the DB's into decisions.
I am entirely on the fence with this one.

Emma

You are profoundly consistent!   ;D 8-) ;D  My point in posting it was to show how little defense was being played by either team and why both teams scored 40+ points.    To me that is good news.   The UWW defense will not allow that to happen regardless of mobility and our offense has an opportunity to improve and get some confidence......at least in my opinion.

WarhawkDad

I'm trying, I'm really trying to be positive.
My logic side has a pit bull grasp on my thoughts though.
Buff St D looked weak last year too. We got 2 field goals agin em. They are better offensively this year.
I get that the highlights don't show a lot of D being played (looked like playground basketball)- but we can't be deceived by looking only at the touchdowns. It's very possible the defenders were playing a bit confused due to offensive scheme. Once they face the bland UWW offense- I don't think we will see video clips of Buff St players out of position.
Ugh, what a miserable week. Like waiting to go to the principal's office.

So this is you trying to be positive?  I"m glad you don't work for Hallmark!

...are there any dive bars in or on the outskirts of town?   ;D

The Golden Rail is near the end of town. Good place for some spirits.

That earned you a plus k- well done.
So you know- I keep the positive stuff on the inside and let the negative stuff flow out. It's a healthier way to deal w my UWW depression.

I am really looking forward to this game.  I think the bye week this early in the season is tough and would have been much more welcome during the meat of the WIAC schedule, but hopefully it has given them time to make the offense adjustments they needed against Washington U.  That was my first Warhawk game and I must admit I was very impressed by the atmosphere and enthusiasm of the students.  Also took in the JV game last Sunday against Carthage. 51-3 victory for the Hawks with some good looking freshmen on the field.  I am definitely looking forward to the next home game now that I know where to tailgate

Where do you setup shop Saturday mornings? A handful of us on these boards usually park along the first row (west side) just in front of the Perk. Since a lot of us either live or are from IL, we dubbed it "Fibby Row". Judging by your profile, you'll fit right in.  ;D

For full disclosure, I live right outside Milwaukee but grew up in Lombard until I attended UWW.

Understandable. But that's one of the great things about the Perk: It's all purple all the time.  And it has nothing to do with those putrid Vikings!

Hey Retagent. I just noticed something. When you add up all of your + karma and your (-) Karma, you've had more total karma reaction than posts.  That's pretty impressive.
