I just read the announcement that the WIAC has agreed to allow Fox to air three WIAC games live.  It looks like the UWW v. Stout game this weekend is one and if I read correctly the game time was pushed back 30 minutes???  Is that correct?

Also on your story about voting for best fan experience, the link does not work.  Thanks...I am going to vote, early and often....Chicago style!

So it's confirmed this will be aired live rather than replayed a few days later?

To my knowledge, this has to be the first live televised (non Stagg Bowl) game for a WIAC team. Outside of school's city limits at least.

I'm not sure if this counts but the '11 semifinal (St. Thomas vs UWW at the Perk) was telecast?? on ESPN 3

Yea, that's right. But I think ESPN 3 is just available over the web. But still it's ESPN!

Voice may have to look this up but I think there was a night statewide broadcast of a UW-W game back in the 70's. It seems like it might have been against Stevens Point. For whatever reason, I think Gary Bender may have been the announcer.

Bleed - I'm being told that only Stout, Platteville and Whitewater opted to be included in the Fox Sports Wisconsin Wisconsin/North WIAC TV coverage.

Why not the other schools?  I have not heard a definitive reason.

Bleed...

You spurred my memory... I had the opportunity to have dinner one night while covering Milwaukee Brewers spring training in the mid 1990s. I do recall him talking about that telecast. Talk about "a blast from the past!!"

PS -Sorry for name dropping

UWL vs UWEC is always live broadcast every year on Channel 19 (ABC) in La Crosse/Eau Claire.  Obviously a regional broadcast but it gets out there a bit.
UW-La Crosse

The game will be re-broadcast several times next week as well.  Usually that is at odd-ball times like midnight or 8 AM, so check your local listings.  Since they don't have Brewer games to broadcast and re-broadcast, they have to open it up a little.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!
