Welcome back to the power pinnacle my UWW friends!

(In my best Dean Wormer's voice)...I really hate those guys!   ;)

Son, we live in a world that has brackets, and those brackets have to be filled by men with cannons. Who's gonna do it? You? You,Skunks Sidekick? UW-W has  a greater responsibility than you could possibly fathom. You weep for UW-Oshkosh, and you curse the Warhawks. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know. UW-O's stumble, while tragic, probably saved the WIAC. And UW's existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, strengthens D3. You don't want the truth because deep down in places you don't talk about at parties, you WANT UW-W in that bracket.  you NEED UW-W in that bracket. We use words like WIWA and monkeystomp and purple kool aide. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent defending something. You use them as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the influence of alcohol .   ;)

Bleed- You've Got Skills man.

I don't disagree with anything you posted emma. I guess what I'm trying to say is; "Nothing's for sure. That's for sure." ;)

D O.C.

When this season is over maybe some of the WIWA ostriches will tackle the subject line that many people had to know what was going on during the wonder years with the MVP.

I would like to nominate this post as post of the year!   Just imagining Bleedpurple doing his best Jack Nicholson imitation has me laughing at loud at my place of employment!   ;D

WarhawkDad

I was amused -- I got a moderator report on that post and the note said it was reported for excessive awesomeness. :)

Just exactly what would you like us to say about Mr. Coppage that would make you happy or to prove we are all well aware of the story (which is quite old now)?
I'm saddened by the story.  It reflects poorly on him and it reflects poorly on the university.

That said, he's one of ours and I'll continue to root for him- only on a different stage.

Is there something specific you are wanting to see discussed?

You know D.O.C., I think that WIWA posters have more respect for D3 college athletics than to think that kids won't potentially get in trouble from time to time.  The fact that it was someone of his talent just makes it more sad.  But to come on this board and in essence slander an entire program and all of the coaches and athletes that excelled and contributed to the program's success is ridiculous.

Be sure, I am not defending the actions of the student athlete, he got what he deserved, but I am definitely not going to let someone paint with that broad of a brush.    I am sure that there has never been a student athlete in the NWC who got busted for the same thing.

Remember, if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.....or as Pat Coleman has in his signature line from Old 40, Let's discuss (sports) in a positive way, sometimes kidding each other with no disrespect.

I wouldn't think a Linfield fan would want people to air former players' dirty laundry considering what two counts each of recklessly endangering another person and hit-and-run, and one count each of second-degree criminal mischief and driving under the influence of intoxicants look like on an active player's record.

No worries Emma....I can understand the frustration NWC fans have with the WIAC.

When I see WIWA, I wonder to myself; "Is that the Whitewater of 1941 - 1956, the Whitewater of 1999 - 2004, or the Whitewater of 2005 - 2011?" Then I come out of my reverie and decide who gives a Rat's rear end? If it makes them happy, who am I to rain on their parade?

You can't make enough rain for this parade big boy!  Once the Johnnies are done playing and you aren't glued to your transistor radio on Saturdays, join us for the first playoff game at the Perk. Got plenty of purple kool aid to go around!  ;)

Excuse me if I missed something, but isn't this old news?  He's served his time, is completing his probation and staying out of trouble, no?

You are correct. Sentencing was in April. The offenses occurred after the young man was out of the football program. Why DOC felt the need to bring it up again now is anyone's guess. His statement that "people had to know" was out of bounds. UW-W isn't a tiny little school of under 1700. Not possible to keep track of over 10,000 students.
