As the Packers showed last night though (finally found a way to get Bears' victory onto this WI board), at some point or position, not all injuries can be overcome.

+K   ;D

Bears barely beat the Packers by a touchdown without Rodgers! If he was in they would have been toast.  :-*

To level the playing field, a certain starting QB from the other team was missing as well (along with the captain of their defense).  :-*

Probably worked out better for you, Cutler loves the Packers DBs!  8-)

Brian Borland's UW-Whitewater defense has been a key component to the Warhawks 8-0 start to the season.

UW-Whitewater leads the WIAC in total defense and ranks high in this week's NCAA III National Statistics.

The Hawks rank in the top 6 this week in the following defensive national statistical categories.

Scoring Defense (8.4 pts/game) No. 3
Total Defense (224.0 yds/game) No. 4
Rushing Defense (75.6 yds/game) No. 6
Passing Efficiency Defense (80.00) No.3
First Downs Defense (93) No. 3
Turnover Margin (+18) No. 2
3rd Down Conversion Pct Defense (0.236) No. 4

Borland (first 10 minutes) followed by Coach Leipold were featured on Monday night's KOOL 106.5 Warhawk Weekly Radio Show.

True enough.
Rodgers is a bigger loss than Cutler no doubt, especially in light of McCown's performance.  As a fan of the game don't you have to appreciate McCown's and the offense's performance?
The 93 yard drive from the 1 for a FG and the 19 play-9 min last drive of the game were not against the Rodgerless O- it was the Packer D with that giant wall of manglob that couldn't stop da Cutlerless Bears.  Some gutsy playcalling by the new HC too.
There was a lot of great Pound the Rock stuff from both teams.  The Packers run game was unstoppable at times- If Mr. Lacy could stay fresh he could have ended up with 300 yards.

A little off topic, but I was thinking about Bret Bielema today.

Wonder if he has any regrets about leaving Wisconsin for the greener pastures of Arkansas? He left a Badger team that was loaded with talent and a position where he'd built up tons of goodwill after 3 straight Rose Bowls and had his mentor as a boss. Now he's sitting in the SEC East cellar and winless in the league. Maybe wanting a piece of Alabama, aTm, Auburn, Florida, LSU, SoCarolina, et. al was biting off a little more than he can chew  :P (this isn't SEC love, I'm a B1G guy, GBR!)

I'm betting he wouldn't admit to it, but something tells me Madison is looking awfully good right about now. Someone should have told him that when you leave to coach the Razorbacks in Arkansas, the pastures aren't greener, just stinkier  ;D

The pasture my not be greener, but I bet the money is greener in the SEC.

Very true, especially for assistants, which helps with retention. But at this rate, I'm guessing the extra $500k or so he gets from Arkansas in salary won't seem so great if he doesn't last beyond seasons 3 or 4. Hard to see a situation in which Bielema wasn't still coaching at WI 8 years from now. Then again, maybe he turns it around like Mizzou did this year. Guess we'll see

I think "built up tons of goodwill" might be a tad of an overstatement. I didn't mind a bit when he left.

I believe part of that had to do with the fact that without Rodgers the Packers D couldn't sustain pretty much any drive meaning the D was out there a lot more then they usually are leaving them pretty gassed at the end.

Funny you say that. I'm not a Badger fan, but I have many, many friends up here in WI that are. Some of which were never really big on Bielema. So they weren't exactly heart broken when he left.

Exactly, 02. It reminds me of a Bucks/Bulls game I went to in 1986. Unfortunately Michael Jordan was injured. But really, that just leveled the playing field because Craig Hodges and defensive specialist Paul Pressey of the Bucks were hurt as well.   :D
