Will Whitewater stay in the West or be moved to the North when the NCAA Division III Playoff brackets are announced on Sunday?  UWW made it to the Stagg Bowl out of the West Region in 2005, 2006, and 2008. They were "moved" to the North Region in 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2011.

The Warhawks four D3 Titles all were all while representing the North Region.

Interesting...I didn't know all their titles came when they went through the North.

Possibly because the one that sticks out in your mind is 2010 when we were seeded second and had to travel to North Central for the game.  Otherwise in the other years we were seeded first and played all of our games in the Perk.

That's a good point. From that standpoint, the West and North region environment must have looked awfully similar! Albeit with different opponents.

Exactly, before 2010 I couldn't tell you which region the Hawks were in off the top of my head.

You should have by the opponents!  :P

How fired up can WW get for this game? How much pride/fight do the Falcons still have? These two questions may determine the winner. I'm goin way out on the limb for this one:RF wins.

+k for the lonely, leaf barren limb (as described by others). Way to go believing in your team.

In the most respectful way possible, I'd just like to point out that you're goofy.  ;)

Let's see...

Playing for the outright WIAC championship.
Playing for a possible #1 seed and playoff home games.
Playing to continue to establish that WIWA is true.

Pretty sure UW-Wwill show up.  If the Falcons get the upset, they will have to earn it.  I know the weather will be windy and I hear some rain is in the forecast.  I have no idea what the margin of victory will be and I don't really care, but I am sticking with UW-W in this one.  ;)

Got a chance to watch a bit of practice yesterday. Pretty crisp and lively.

I can see the game being closer than some might expect for two reasons.
1.  They've proven they can hang with good teams and the tough non-con schedule helps them.
2.  What will the UWW philosophy be regarding player preservation?

This is one game for sure that I really don't care how UWW looks in winning it, by 1 or 51.  Just win it in good health.

A one-score win would make me VERY nervous. Not so much about the team, but on how the committee might look at that game when considering #1 teams in the West or North.

I remember UWW dropping a few spots in the Top 25 when they only beat Wash U by 10. I don't want to leave any doubt in the committee's eyes about Whitewater, so a close game wouldn't exactly help Whitewater's cause.

I thought UWW was just a bit sloppy and unfocused at Point last week.  I am expecting the coaches stressed that issue this week and the team will come out strong and ready to play.  Strange things can happen, but I'm looking for a convincing win.  (It does look like a dicey weather day)
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

bp--don't forget:  both teams have "perfect" seasons, as indicated by the zeros after each team's record. :)

Someone finally figured out why Mount is Mount.   It's the playing in the North Region.    ;)
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Good point- I didn't consider the importance of the style points for selection.

Enough with all this "where will whitewater land" questioning. Another important question (I think) that is not being asked is what region does the winner of the UWO vs UWP game go to? And more importantly what seed do you expect them to get. Do they stay in the same region as UWW as a 2 or 3 seed? Or do they put them in the other region? And to add even more food for thought what do you think the best scenario is for both of our beloved WIAC teams (UWW and UWP/UWO) to make a strong and deep run into the playoffs?

badgerwarhawk

Welcome

The winner stays in the West.  Possible 3 seed.

I like our chances with this defense.  I think they can keep us in any game.   Because I can see us going North I hope either team makes a run.  But not at our expense.  ;)
