Congratulations to UW-W on their 10-0 regular season and their outright WIAC Championship. Everyone in the program should be proud of what they accomplished. Congratulations and thank you to the seniors for all they have put into the Warhawks' program. I can't think of a more fitting way for them to end their careers than with 5 more victories.

Go Hawks!

WIWA!

Well said Bleed.  I'm thrilled for the entire UWW program.

QuoteCan't complain about that at all.

I'll complain for you then (Hi PC  ;)  )

St. Norberts, St. Scholastica, Washington U., Wartburg trade for North Central and John Carroll?

I'm with MasterJ.   If they are willing to run a potential 4 games through the Perk on the Road to Salem, I'm willing to welcome whatever teams they send this way.

It's time for big boy football now. Whoever they bring in, let's strap it up and let the hitting begin!   ;)

We were able to catch the fourth quarter of the UWO-UWP game on streaming radio.  What a finish!  I was wrong figuring UWO would handle UWP fairly easily.  The first half stats looked like UWO would be in control throughout.  To UWP's credit, they would not give up, despite throwing consecutive interceptions late in the third quarter.  Their D came through when it had to, stopping UWO on three consecutive drives in third/fourth quarter.

I was pulling for Platteville and am glad they won. Nothing against UW-O, they will continue to be a force to be reckoned with.  Have a soft spot for UW-P because my dad graduated from there and they have treated him with great class and respect over the years. That's one of the reasons, I was surprised/disappointed with their decision to throw for a score with less than a minute left ahead by 17 against Stout (It was Kelly and Baily, two starters  not reserves who needed game experience). I'm sure our Stout friends were rooting for UW-O and I understand.  Nonetheless, I find it hard not to root for UW-P  when they are not playing UW-W.

I have sensed a general lack of respect for the Pioneers since their loss to UW-W.  I didn't discount their chances against UW-O because of that performance. The UW-W defensive coaches are as good as it gets in terms of analyzing an offense and disrupting what they are trying to do. The UW-W defense has the speed, the strength, and the athleticism to carry out and dominate with schemes that most D-III teams simply couldn't pull off.

I believe the Pioneers have a chance to represent the WIAC well. Do I think UW-O could have gone further? Maybe because they have a more balanced style of play. But it seems wrong to even go there when this UW-P team found a way to go on the road and beat them. I don't know how far the Pioneers will advance, but I know one thing. Teams that struggle defending the pass don't want this draw.

Heartbreaking loss up at Titan Stadium yesterday. Best of luck to both UWW and UWP in the playoffs. Represent the WIAC and show the country (again) how strong this conference is.

I can only imagine. Hard not to feel for you and for the UW-O players and coaches. Losing it at the end hurts. Good luck in the future to the seniors on this year's UW-O team.

As far as the rest of the team, tell them to take it easy until fall camp. Let them know that Steve Brown makes a big deal about working out and getting stronger, but they are only going to be college kids once and it's party time!  ;)

Thanks for the good wishes. We will do ya' proud.  ;)

Before we get into thick of the playoffs I'd like to give my former High School a rep for making it to the Division 3 State Championship game this week. Go beat Monona Grove!

Plus, I'd like to see some of those offensive studs end up at UWW. Specifically WR Brees this year and QB Ringelberg next year though I have a feeling both could end up D1.

Yeah, we know, the WIAC is the besy conference in the country, No, the world, No, the universe. No one else can compete. All other football teams should bow in respect. Why even play the games. We all know who will win. All Hail, the WIAC you pansies not in the WIAC.

With all due respect you clicked on  "West Region", then, at some point, you clicked on the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.  And you did it on a day that two of our teams are expected to make the D-III playoff field.  Then you reacted this way to a fairly innocuous exchange between two posters who really don't have a history of being obnoxious or over the top.

Given these facts. I feel like it's only fair to warn you, "You ain't seen nothin' yet".   ;D

Retagent,

I think you hit the wrong link, the Johnnie Smokefest board starts with a M not a W ;)

Wow, UWW will have to beat the best team in the country (Linfield) just to get out of the region. Very tough region.

Of all the predictions I've read this past week, I don't think anyone predicted these placements of the #1 and #2 team in each region.
