I really don't smite people. If PC has that mythical smite O meter he can vouch.

BTW, congratulations to voice on another year.

D.O.C .... if I'm the "voice" you are referring to? Thanks!
Looking forward to the potential round 3 match-up of Linfield & U- double-dub at the Perk. Weather Channel just reported that the first half of December could include a couple of big time snow storms and temperatures well below normal. Just kidding!!

The Farmers almanac is calling for above normal snow for our region....

Yeah and we don't play in some fancy-Dan Dome like you guys do out there. We play football like it was MEANT to be played: east of the Rockies!  ;D

Enough of that emotional talk.
A couple observations on the brackets.
-I'd love to see a Mt. Union- NCC matchup.  NCC needs to finally make a statement on the national scene and Not lose before the semis.  As I seem to say every year around this time, I believe NCC has the talent to compete with anybody.
-As it seems every year, UWW will certainly have to earn it if they make it to the Stagg with both Linfield and MHB in the way.  I lean toward 02 in how I rank Linfield.
-If UWP doesn't stumble vs. Concordia, WI, their game vs. NCC should be really interesting.  I don't see how UWP will stop NCC, but at the same time, UWP will bring something to the table that NCC has struggled with in past playoffs, a really sound passing attack.
-I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Witt push Mt to the limit in round 2.
-I fully admit I'm not sold on Bethel yet and I don't think the brackets give them a chance to show if they are a top 4 team until the 3rd round.
-I think it really stinks that Linfield and PLU have to face off in the first round.
-I wouldn't be surprised if JCU's first round game vs. St. John Fisher is tougher than their second round game if they get that far.
-]I do think there is a chance that some teams played it close to the vest in terms of showing a whole lot in the last couple of games.  Linfield, Franklin and maybe even St. Norbert are examples of teams that perhaps preferred to show less and run the risk of a closer/losing game.

They succeeded.  ;)

game 1 you get pacific ( we succeeded) ;D,  game 2 second PLU (IF) you will see everything we have to win this one. ;), game 3 winner of HAMp/ ???mary  (IF)  ,, So don't worry we still have a few tricks left?  IF we win out?  :o :-* ;)

Since we enjoyed our last trip and all the snow please just rain this time maybe  ;D   IF ;)

Pretty sure you will make it here.  While it's unfortunate you have to play Pac Lu in the first round, I think the committee recognized that and sent you a first round type game in the second round.

As far as successfully ordering a specific kind of weather in Wisconsin, um... please let US know if you can figure that one out.  If there ever was an instruction manual on that, it has been lost for generations.  :-X

Ha! In today's Around the Nation Podcast, Pat and Keith talked about how the Packers can't win without Rodgers.

Didn't see that topic coming when I listened in.  :P

There is a team in the playoffs named the Packers with a QB named Rodgers? What a coincidence. ;D

Well its playoff football time again. And again game day at the Perk will be without Mike "Cannon Man" Lesko's tradition-laden cannon thanks to the NCAA. I published the following commentary this morning...

One of the travesties of UW-Whitewater playoff football is the NCAA's ban on Mike "Cannon Man" Lesko's tradition-laden cannon at the Perkins Stadium. Take a note NCAA – SHAME ON YOU!!!!

Over the past three year's of watching NCAA playoff football on network TV I have personally witnessed four occasions where the host school shot off a cannon following a home team touchdown.

The NCAA, which blankets itself in college football's close relationship with traditions, prohibits the use of "noisemakers" at its sanctioned events.  Just wondering out loud here... if ESPN or ABC TV officials wanted those school's that have that traditional cannon fire (ie: Army/Navy game) or West Virginia mascot gun fire (ie: West Virginia home football games) as part of its televised game package, would the NCAA say no?

In this day and age, my guess is the NCAA would say yes to Mike Lesko's highly popular and highly traditional cannon adjacent to the south end zone IF AND ONLY IF it would hold the exclusive merchandising rights to the "tradition."

This memo to the NCAA – how about allowing the Cannon Man to set up his cannon in its normal location during the Warhawks' upcoming playoff games in Perkins Stadium? Instead of having the cannon go off, the Hawk fans will simply yell BOOM but not loud enough to be classified as a "noisemaker." We promise, you can have the merchandising rights!

Thank you in advance for your support. God, I have that same feeling I had back when I was a student in the early 70s at UW-Eau Claire!!!  :D

Why don't all of you have chili leading up to the games, and make a "natural" boom. It might change their minds, if they attend. I'd like to see them try to ban that.

FYI, I have no love for the cannon man, and have trouble with how upset you get when it is "banned." However, I have more trouble with the NCAA doing things in this vein, for no good reason that I can think of.

So it wouldn't bother you a bit if one of your program's traditions was banned "for no good reason that I can think of."  For some reason I find that a tad difficult to believe.
