In ATN, all of the prognosticators pick Linfield to go to the Semi-Finals.  Interesting.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Yeah, interesting slight to UWW (and also Bethel) by those guys - but they raise valid points in their reasoning.  Guess we'll see how it turns out. Edit: 'Slight' is probably too strong especially given the d3poll...

Whenever I watch Klotz play I think to myself, "how in the heck did this kid end up in DIII?"  I know he started out at a DII school and transfered to WHITEWATER.  But he has all the tools to be a DI scholarship player.

I'm not complaining though. ;D

"And on this rock I will build (this championship)...."

I agree with you. He is a great player and leader.  He reminds me a little of a kid we had a few years ago. I think 413 likes 33 better, but 44 ain't bad either!  ;)

Congratulations to Cole and to all the All-Conference Selections and Coach Emendorfer.

Mike is an interesting choice for COY. Platteville was picked by the coaches to win the conference and ended up squeaking into second place with a last second field goal at the end of the last game. Seconds away from a third place finish. What's in front of us is all that matters so no biggie. But for the record, I think LL deserved it this year. IMO his best job of coaching since taking over the program at a time we needed his best job of coaching.
OMG!!!!   There are no words to describe just how THRILLED I am that a linebacker has received POY!!!  Seriously!!!!  Not a QB or a RB?   Not an offensive player???   He is only the 3rd defensive player for UWW since 1968 and 1972???   What a wonderful accomplishment for him, Coach B. and one of the greatest defensive program in D-3!  Of course, I like #33 better (what do you expect a mother to say,)    ;) but I so love the program and the LB position that I couldn't be happier for Cole and a HUGE congrats to him!!!!!   And, it's not like he broke my son's two UWW records or anything.  LOL   ;D
"Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!"  Dennis Miller

"Three things you don't want to be in football, slow, small and friendly!"  John Madden

"You can learn more character on the two-yard line than anywhere else in
life." Paul Dietzel / LSU

Yeah, not really a slight, Linfield is a good team that could very well beat UWW in a game, though the reverse is also true and I think that we can beat them. Hopefully no UWW fans come and complain about the picks, will all be proven on the football field in the end.

I agree 100%. The D3 guys do a great job putting out D3 material for us to absorb and enjoy every single week. It is always fun to see how they see things going. I think the playoffs will be a lot of fun.  If it comes down to Linfield coming to town, pretty sure our guys will show up and play. Fun to be back in the dance!  WIWA!

Way to go everybody, now, back to the future. Is the baseball team ready to shovel snow off the bleachers when it does come?

Already got em lined up.... on the home side. The visitor side is BYOS.  Bring your own shovel. It will come in handy both in the visitor's bleachers and in cleaning up the mess in the parking lot created by your tailgating conversation.  ;D

Is it a secret we have kidnapped Linfield fans held in the dungeon of the Perk from that last time they came in 2009 and we only bring them out to shovel the snow?  ;)

I'd have volunteered to carry a sack of salt or pumice in my pocket to put all over the ice on the up and down ramps.

This year, not so sure.

I think it's possible that this could be the first "pumice" appearance on these boards.  +k

Brand new car in April 1998 headed to Portland from SoCal monitoring the weather which was expected snow. Should I stay on 5 north and try to beat the storm over the Shasta Mountain or take I 80 to get over the Sierras and overnight in Reno?
What a gamble!
Almost at the summit of Donner Pass it was snowing as I came up behind a truck that dumped a load of pumice/cinders all over the new car.
And now back to the game...

Enough of this talk about light and pourous gas-rich stuff.

I don't get bothered by predictions like those of Linfield making it out of the bracket.  I do find the comments from Keith that Linfield and JCU are the defensive equals of UWW to be interesting.  Now, I don't know for a fact they aren't, but I tend to think it's an opinion that might be a bit off.  When UWW played the top two teams in the WIAC this year they scored a combined 24 points against the UWW defense.  When JCU played Mt, they gave up 42 points.  I certainly acknowledge it's more than likely that Mt's offense is better than either UWO or UWP, but 42?  I simply feel there isn't enough current or historical evidence for JCU to be put into the category of one of the best defenses in the country.
Linfield, I'll need more time on this arguement.

Agreed. As far as JCU or Linfield being the defensive equivalent of UW-W, I will believe it when I see it. According to HSCoach, who has seen some very high level defenses in his day, JCU has a very good defense, but not to the level of their stats heading into the  Mount game. I think he stated that they are solid everywhere, but not overly outstanding in any one area. If accurate, that's not going to be equal to this UW-W defense. Linfield? We may have a chance to find out up close and personal in a couple weeks.

I just watched a really good video highlight package of Mount Union's Stagg Bowl wins. Very cool!! I was waiting for highlights of the '07, '09, '10 and '11 Stagg Bowls on the video. Apparently that footage found the film editor's floor.

Sorry for being a wise a$$!

I do get the feeling that we are not Mount Union's favorites. I can kind of understand why.

And maybe the teams on the other side of the bracket could step up and take this stat as a challenge:

Since October 22, 2005, Mount Union's record is:

3-4 against Whitewater.
116-0 against everyone else. Anyone else feel like stepping up this year? Anyone? Buehler? ...

All predictions aside, if no one else will step up, UW-W's gotta do what UW-W's gotta do. My apologies in advance for the broken dreams along the way.  ;)
