bp,
Should be a great game.  Just had to throw the Mike one out to emma !!!

:)
I'm right there with you.  The reality is, look at SOS and stats all we want, but the two games these teams played against each other came down to the last minutes.  This shouldn't be anything but a nailbiter.

I'll go a little corny here.  I think of Linfield/UWW more like two Americans competing to make the olympic team for the right to take on the Soviets (or a reasonable facsimile thereof)- and we know who they are.   ;D
says the guy whose team has won 3 of the last 4 Stagg Bowls!

Then there's the 17 consecutive playoff games his team has won.  ;)

I have a feeling you made similar predictions in 2005 (UWW), 2009 (UWW) and 2012 (UWO).

However, I think Linfield has a good chance to win this game. Hell, I even picked them to win the Stagg Bowl in the brackets competition. But I would gladly rip up my sheet with a Whitewater win tomorrow.  :D

Actually no Warhawk,
I just have watched our D go into shutdown mode time and time again this year.  They are ballers, make big plays as WW does.  I was at the 05 heartbreaker game when a certian WW LB that 413 is related to made THE big play.

Don't blink tomorrow, the team that keeps the Mojo going will move on

Can't wait !!

I'd say the relative lack of banter means that fans on both sides are a bit nervous.

Ya....I'd be nervous if I was UWW.       :-*

Yea, because the NWC has just had so much success against the WIAC in the playoffs.  8-)

Again - you cannot infer a specific from the general.

At least I spelled everything correctly.  ;D

Interesting prediction from the D3 guys in the Triple Take that just posted :o
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Listening to their weekly podcasts leading up to this game, I thought they would go this way.

Basically calling it a pick-em.

In looking at the Linfield roster, I see quite a few players who are from SoCal, or Hawaii. It seems to me that the frigid conditions could affect those individuals more - especially mentally - than those who have some experience with playing in that type of weather. It will affect all players, but having experience with it could be a big advantage. Those players who see spotty time, punters, kickers, other special teams players, and reserves who come in due to injury, or other reasons, will have it more difficult, IMHO.

In looking back on UWW's seven straight quarterfinal wins, the team that prevailed on special teams and won the turnover battle has been the team that won. I'm just sayin'.....
