In looking at the Linfield roster, I see quite a few players who are from SoCal, or Hawaii. It seems to me that the frigid conditions could affect those individuals more - especially mentally - than those who have some experience with playing in that type of weather. It will affect all players, but having experience with it could be a big advantage. Those players who see spotty time, punters, kickers, other special teams players, and reserves who come in due to injury, or other reasons, will have it more difficult, IMHO.

By this time of year, retagent, the warm weather boys are used to the weather, which has been almost Minnesota-like in Oregon this week.

Spoken like someone who's not from MN  ;) ;D 8-)

D3football.com just tweeted the Linfield's No. 1 running back Josh Hill will not play today due to injury suffered last week vs. Hampden-Sydney

Yeah....and for those of you that read closely, DOC actually gave you this information (and more) last night.  Luckily we have some depth at RB this year.
Go Cats!

My advice to fans attending. Stop by a Walmart, Walgreens or some other retail outlet and get some "Hot Hands" hand warmers. Put them in your gloves, boots, crotch, wherever you have room. Global warming hasn't hit SE WI yet.

MasterJedi

Thanks for the offer guys, I do appreciate it, but I can get my own cash out, just need to head in to work to use the free atm. Adds another 20 minutes to the trip but oh well, just wanted to see if the Perk had an easy button!  :P

Any given Saturday, boys,

Lets do this !!

My boys, your boys, out back tomorrow !!!

Cats by 4
Phone it in, this one is in the bank.(late 4th qtr, by our salty D)

GHC

Oh and for Master Jedi on the thin skin stuff---  You crack me up man !!

I have a feeling you made similar predictions in 2005 (UWW), 2009 (UWW) and 2012 (UWO).

However, I think Linfield has a good chance to win this game. Hell, I even picked them to win the Stagg Bowl in the brackets competition. But I would gladly rip up my sheet with a Whitewater win tomorrow.  :D

Actually no Warhawk,
I just have watched our D go into shutdown mode time and time again this year.  They are ballers, make big plays as WW does.  I was at the 05 heartbreaker game when a certian WW LB that 413 is related to made THE big play.

Don't blink tomorrow, the team that keeps the Mojo going will move on

Can't wait !!

Early call on this weeks game.  The Cats are a +17 in this one boys.  +10 at the half and another score in the second half.  My call is

Linfield   37
UWW    20

Phone it in, Its in the bank boys

Just so you all know  I'm switching from chowder to Stagg Chili ;D

                     GHC

Hmmmm... maybe he meant that in those past games he actually picked the Cats by more. How did that Stagg Chili taste in 05 GHC?  ;D

I'm sure after your eloquently researched post GHC would be glad to share some of his special chowder with you....  :-*

Glad he's off the Stagg Chile and back to the Chowder!  :)

The "research" was all in good fun. Gotta admit calling one of the best players in D3 history overrated is kind of funny.    :D

Hope to meet Wildcat11 and other Cat fans making the trip before the game. Dress in layers!

Well theres 30 minutes of your life that you will never get back again   ;D

Life? What life? :)

The irony was, after DOC posted it, Pat came on and basically said, non-story...it's football, game on. Then d3football.com sent out a tweet about the injury  :o ;) So, I guess it was a tweet-able non-story  ;D

Here's the original:

How frisky would a fan from any team be if they lost their defensive front 3, the #1 running back, the #2 quarterback, #1 receiver and a starting linebacker?
Play ball!
No More Injuries....

Whitewater's lost several running backs this season, both of their top receivers have missed time ... it's the way football is.

Both have a point really. It's football, and the playoffs in many ways are a war of attrition, just the way it is. That said, Linfield's definitely taken some lumps this year and it seems they are more banged up coming into today than UWW is.

Which isn't reason for any excuses (not that anyone's making any), but is too bad, this would be even better (how is that possible!) if both teams were fully healthy.

All that to say, good luck to both sides, stay warm and stay healthy!
