My feeling was the Warhawks just got physical once they settled into the game.  Especially the front seven on D, though the play by Grayvold was definitely stellar.

Got to meet ff413 and her family (including her favorite LB).  Thanks for the beer!

Was actually a pretty decent day at the Perk.  Cold, but no wind.  And a lot of fun to watch.   :)
You are most welcome.  So great to meet you too, KS.  Just sorry we didn't have more time to talk.  All my socializing in the parking lot and then seeing you when the time to get into the stadium for kick off was tight.  Stop by our tailgate any time in the future.   :)

Way to go UWW!! Glad you are still on the road to Salem. What I don't understand is why you always have the harder route there (ie. Playing Linfield & UMHB) than another team thar always seems to have an easier route.  Just saying. .  .  . I sure am looking to seeing you in 2 weeks in Salem,  so play hard!!! Tell the coach(es) that I'll need a UWW pin for good luck, so bring an extra one.  Can't wait!!  Go WARHAWKS!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice. You demeaned Bethel, NCC, Platteville, and Mount Union in one short post.

41-17.  :-\

I know, I know....the score would have been a lot closer with their starting QB. I agree with that.

Plus I don't think that comment demeaned Mount Union, as much as it demeaned Wesley.

Really? You've NEVER seen a sporting contest where a very good team was beaten badly by another very good team by a lopsided score. Oh, wait, Northern Illinois (11-0 at the time) was routed by Bowling Green (8-3 at the time) in the MAC Championship just a couple days ago. I think you need to look a little harder at what you post. Bethel had a LOUSY GAME. It does not mean they are a lousy team.

I don't think that the comment intentionally demeaned thos teams I listed, but that is an unintended consequence. If you can't see that, I'm lost.

I'm sure having a lousy game had something to do with Erickson being sidelined. Which, in turn, made things a heck of a lot easier on NCC's 24-point win. At least Lynch was healthy when Northern Ill lost to BG.

I already stated the game would have been closer if Peterson was playing. That much is obvious. It's tough for a team to be competitive against a team like NCC when their starting QB out. I realize that UWW managed to do it in 2010, but Brekke had a few starts under his belt heading into that game, when Keefe had none.

I'm actually defending Bethel here...not saying they were a lousy overall team. lousy teams don't finish undefeated in a strong conference. They just faced a better team without their starting QB. Few teams can overcome that.

Another GREAT day in the Perk!  Had a ton of fun with my family, friends and PP buddies!  !  Loved getting to see WC11 again, a terrific young man!  Also, we got to meet the WIAC POY, after the game and his family.  Also, a terrific young man and family.   What a very scary first quarter but what a turn around for the Hawks!  Great, hard fought game by both sides.  To get, "punched in the mouth," like that, and rally from a 17-0 deficit, I agree, shows major character and gives this young Hawk team a great play-off experience to build on.  Loved the up tempo drives that the offense did at times, seemed to fit them well, and helped with the momentum change that lead to our comeback.  Congrats to the 2013 Wildcats on another stellar performance and season!  Class program and fans from top to bottom!  Said it many times but it may never be more true than with the 2013 Warhawks:

Seriously?  Olinemom doesn't have an, "intent to demean," bone in her body!  She is just showing support and a little wishful thinking and rooting for a team that she has adopted for 8 years!  If you can't see that you are being a little too thin skinned calling out a wonderful, kind and generous, D-3 football loving, brownie baking lady for, "unintended consequences," then

I don't she meant anything but don't really care.  She makes damn good brownies so she gets a pass.

Eric Kumerow tied Derek Stanley's single season touchdown receptions yesterday.  His three touchdown receptions give him 17 on the season.  Also his 149 receiving yards leave him 131 yards short of breaking Stanley's single season receiving yardage record and his 5 receptions bring him to within 15 of Aaron Rusch's single season record.

Yes, after several possessions, anyway.  :)  Kummerow is the real deal.  A few of his TD catches were, " Derek Stanleyesq!"   No wonder Eric is closing in on some of his records.

UMHB will roll out the purple carpet for the Warhawks on their first visit to The CRUthedral, at least off the field.  ;D

To everyone making the trip to the Lone Star State from Wisconsin, enjoy your time in Central Texas. Lots of good Texas BBQ everywhere; Schoepf's BBQ in Belton is pretty good eatin' and I here Miller's is good as well, but don't eat too much before the game. The CRUthedral has some special food items that are only available at the stadium.

I recommend trying a Cru-dog. It is a hotdog shaped hamburger (best way to describe it) served on a Hawaiian bun topped by cheese. Good stuff. You might want to try the Slovacek Sausage as well. Blue Bell Ice Cream makes a special purple colored homemade vanilla ice cream exclusively for UMHB; pretty tasty stuff. With temps expected to be in the 50s, ice cream is still doable.

Not a lot of hotel choices in Belton. Killeen has quite a few and Temple has added some in the past few years.  Killeen is about a 20/30 minute drive to the stadium, Temple 10/15. Salado is just 10 minutes south of Belton and has a couple of newer hotels - a Best Western and a Holiday Inn Express. Salado is well known for its arts and antique stores. My in-laws live there.

It seems most people fly into Austin, which is about an hour due south of Belton. Lots of hotel, eating and entertainment choices in the capital city

Safe and uneventful travels to all.

Agreed -- I would definitely fly into Austin if you can, but you will find many more flight options to get into DFW.

As Pat pointed out, there will be many more options flying into DFW. The weather will be conducive to making the trip from the Dallas area, though traffic can get hairy on I-35. The trip from Austin via car is much easier. Probably not too many choices flying into Killeen, but I have found some decent fares in the past. Killeen has a nice, relatively new, terminal.

If I can be on any assistance with information, etc..., just send me a message.

Happy trails!

That also relies on trusting the NCAA, though, to be consistent from year to year. New committee chair, new NCAA staff person in charge of this championship -- remember they wanted to give the NESCAC an automatic bid?

I sure hope they will be consistent about the noise makers!  The Cru students sitting in the stands, in 06, banging drums created the worst, loudest environment that I have ever experienced!  Hate to sound like a whiner but if we can't shoot off a cannon, after a TD, when play is stopped, they, damn sure, can't beat drums when our QB is under center!   >:(

That being said, the new stadium looks awesome!   Great memories from our trip there!  Warhawks and their traveling fans will have a great time!  :)
