....personally....I'd be very surprised if UWW doesn't win the whole thing. Right now I think the front runner is NCC.  :o

Assuming NCC beats Mount, I very seriously doubt NCC wins next week, regardless of who they see in Salem.   The disadvantage of being on the big stage for the first time is a lot to overcome.  Plus factor in the "we dethroned the King" syndrome that KC Keeler made famous and I bet NCC goes down hard in Salem.   If they get there.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

Statistics are like bikinis; what they reveal is interesting, what they hide is essential.

Cole Klotz made the Final Four for the Gagliardi Trophy!
Awesome!  Love to see a defensive player capture the, "Heisman of Division 3!"

Speaking of LB's!  Jeff Seissor wrote a cool article about the legacy of great linebackers that have made UW-W,  "D-3's Linebacker U!"   8-)

  http://www.dailyunion.com/sports/uw_whitewater/article_80227592-61aa-11e3-b614-001a4bcf6878.html

Not disagreeing that UWW has churned out several great linebackers through the years, but you would think that UMHB has gotta be somewhere up there close to the warhawks in the linebacker ranks with Javicz Jones last year, Jarrel Freeman in the mid 2000s (now the starting ILB for the Colts), and even Deshon Kinsey this year looking like he could be one of the greats as well. with over 60 solos and 120 total. And i think hes just a junior.

Yes MHB has produced some solid ones, but it's tough to argue against this:

All American UWW Linebackers
2005: Robb Widuch
2006: AJ Raebel
2007: AJ Raebel
2008: Jace Rindahl
2009: Kyle Supanowski
2010: Lane Olson
2011: Greg Arnold
2013: Cole Klotz*

* Safe assumption considering a Gagliardi nominee finalist usually gets some sort of All-American recognition.

Good Lord, I post a broad article about the quality of LB's that the Warhawks have put on the field since the start of this run in 2005 and it turns into a pissing contest.  ::)  K and J's dad, how much time did you spend on that?  Two of the players on our list of LB's broke several of UWW's All Time records, one right after the other,  two had rookie tryouts with the NFL, one signed with Canada, bla, bla, bla. Pizza Hut AA?  I've never heard of it and Football Gazette?  The one with an honorable mention lists that tallies at least 150 players??  ???

You know what they call a, "3nd team All American?"  Answer: "All American!!"

This was a local article by a local sportswriter who has covered UWW extensively during this run, mostly spotlighting the great 2013 LB corp captaining, what is considered by many with stats to prove it, one of the best defenses in D-3 right now!!!  He didn't, "do the math," to see who had more AA's, NFL players, etc, with 230 plus D-3 programs.  In a sport where offense gets the headlines 9 times out of 10,  Jeff's article, that gives a nod to a fantastic set of LB', that we can thank for helping UWW win national championships, is not meant to diminish other programs, especially the Mount.   ::)  Not necessary to take it as a slight to other program's accomplished linebackers for the last several decades and meet it with a matching list. Just want to celebrate and give credit of players on the other side of the ball!     >:(  Geeze..........

We all know that D III Football history began in 2005. Let's just concede that UWW is King of all things.

Ah, now I see it mentioned for a player back in the mid 1980's.  Considering my LB was one year old at the time, still not surprised I have never hear of it!      ::) ;D

I'm sure every position at Mount Union has this extensive of an All-American list. Congratulations   ::)

K&J, please excuse the UWW faithful.  Why would many of them recognize anything 8+ years ago? Did they even have a team?  I was 90% sure their first game was at Mount in 2003 or 2004.  The Warhawks dont need history to be the best EVER!!!! They play in the WIAC, dont be crazy

02 Warhawk

Wow...this got out of hand in a hurry (thanks Mount fans and retagent for that).

I was simply having a discussion with CruFrenzy about the level of tallent at the LB position at our respected schools. But that somehow turned into UWW fans thinking we are the "best ever" because we started having success in 2005.  ???

We all know Mount can trump every D3 football discussion when comparing teams, stats, history, etc.

Or as I like to call it, a pissing contest.  ::)

And I was simply giving credit to some players, on the WIAC board, by posting an article from an independent source.  You guys have problems with the, "Linebacker U," reference, take it up with the writer.  No one came on here to proclaim that we are the, "king of all things," or, "the best team EVER."   >:(
