I felt like we had this discussion before on this board. Bluenote must be new around here.

He's not new, he's trolling.

I know. Just a bit of sarcasm.  :)

High school vs college is apples vs. kumquats.  College athletes (even in d3) are recruited; in high school (aside from rogue programs and some private schools) there is no recruitment

You must not have heard of Jesuit or Central Catholic (football) or Jefferson...for basketball. Jefferson is actually a 5A school but they most often have more D1 players.

Not familiar with those schools, but in Michigan (which has divisions by enrollment), the dominant schools are usually private (which includes parochial).  Recruiting will trump enrollment size 9 times out of 10.  Which is exactly why comparing high school to college is a fool's errand.  For most high schools, it is paramount.  For most colleges it is irrelevant (with the possible exception of affording better facilities and/or better coaches).

That should be right up his alley in that case.

Enrollement:
Notre Dame: 8,475
Michigan State: 48,906
Southern Cal: 36,896

09/21/2013
Notre Dame: 17
Michigan State: 13

10/19/2013
Notre Dame: 14
USC: 10

This doesn't only apply to football. Just look at Duke's college basketball program - 6578 undergrads. They consistantly beat teams like NC state -25176 u-grads.

Examples like these can be found everywhere. Like Ypsi said, Recruiting > School Size.

Recruiting in high gear for UW-Whitewater. According to UWW recruiting coordinator Andy Kotelnicki, he is spending the week recruiting the Chicago-Land area. 34 of UWW's 100 player roster this past season come out of Illinois.

Lemme hope the WIAC recruits a student that can make the an All Academic team next year since there wasn't one (1) on the three teams from a poll I posted here this season.

They can just keep attracting Gagliardi Finalists (Beaver '07, Blanchard '11, Klotz '13)...that'll do just fine.

Good in academics, involved in the community, and great on the field. The complete student athlete.

Huh, in 2013 WIAC institutions had 20 athletes who were academic all americans.

DOC, do yourself a favor.  Next time you're at WalMart buy a clue.

After work, I took my blue vest off and went to look for a google.
couldn't find one.
I posted one list. Could you post the other one. SOMEONE must have done it already but you know how these pages move so fast. I'd read them at work but greeting people is soooo exhausting.

No, other than taking the time to type this I'm finished with it.

'02... add Ryan Kleppe in 2006 and Jeff Schebler in 2009!!

The funny thing here is that DOC is questioning the academic proficiency of the WIAC students (and I assume UWW students more specifically), while his partner in trolling silliness, Bluenote, can't grasp the simplest of concepts regarding student enrollment and its relation to winning in college football.  If both DOC and Bluenote are Linfield or NWC grads...

badgerwarhawk's post should act just like a picture book for Bluenote, limiting the chance of confusing him with too many words.

Here is a cool read.  Football championship history was made in 2013 and the WARHAWKS were part of it!!!!!    ;D

"Five teams. Seventy-three wins. Not a loss between them. It had never happened before in the history of the greatest game on turf, but we can now hold 2013 up as the year the worth of every single national champion was utterly indisputable."

.....Oh my....  :o .... with all the carping and looney responses the last few pages I must have brought up a touchy subject.  ::)  I'm kind of new around here and don't know what to expect when you ask a question .......   :-X  btw, could somebody recommend a good recipe for cheese curds? I've never tried them but I heard they taste kind of like flavored rubber.

Well, I've never tried eating rubber, flavored or otherwise. ::)  But insult cheese curds at your peril - and I'm a Michigander and CCIW grad, not a 'cheesehead'.  Cheese curds are God's favorite snack. ;D
