Shows at Whitewater again.  Not in Iowa.

Shocking considering they played at UWW last year. Plus that road game gives Waldorf only 4 home games on the season. Not sure how Lance pulled that one off  :)

It wouldn't surprise me if we were paying some of their travel expenses.  I remember when Superior dropped football and we were left scrounging for a game at the last minute we covered at least some of the travel expenses for a team (I forgot who) from North Carolina.

It was livingstone college DII and they were from NC

The 2014 schedule is posted on the UW-W website. I'm assuming that means it's official. Only 9 games this year, unless there is a late addition.

Notables:

Season opens with a 7:00 PM Friday night home game against Waldorf on Sept 5th.
Then after traveling to Franklin on September 13th, they don't play again until opening up the conference season on October 4th at home against LaCrosse.

At that point (Oct. 4), half of their regular season home schedule will be completed.

Only 2 of their last 6 conference games are at home as the Hawks host UW-Oshkosh on October 25th and UW-Stevens Point on November 8th.

WW will have a fun stretch towards the end of their schedule, Oct 25 Oshkosh at WW, Nov 1 at Platteville, Nov 8 Stevens Point at WW.  But in the immortal words of Footsteps Falco "that's why girls don't play the game."

Ouch.  That's a long stretch to go with no games.

It could work to their advantage in one sense; they'll be reallllly well-rested for the WIAC schedule.  But man, I would not envy anyone taking that long of a break at any point in the season.
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

So is there still time for a late addition (10th game)? Or is the 2014 scheduling over with?

I know that in the past we've gone as long as July to fill our schedule so I think it technically isn't done yet.  However, obviously, the longer it takes the more difficult an already difficult situation becomes as fewer and fewer programs have open dates.   Let alone the desire to fill them with us.

Cole Klotz is participating in the Green Bay Packers' rookie orientation on a tryout basis this weekend.  Show them what ya' got Cole!

Both WW & Dubuque have open dates on 9/27 but Dubuque already has its schedule full.  That would be an interesting rivalry.

For what its worth, there's been a rumor floating around back here in the east for the last couple of weeks that Whitewater's 10th game (and TCNJ's for that matter)  is TCNJ on the 20th.  Time and  place TBD.  Not all that outlandish a story since Kean is traveling to Texas to play MHB. The re-shuffling of conference alignments has left the NJAC teams searching to fill their open dates until next year when the 4 new members come aboard. (although if you want to talk about scrambling for games, take a look at Wesley's schedule) No confirmation, just something I had heard about a month ago from a couple of players on the NJ end of things. I just came here to see if there were any similar rumblings in the upper midwest. ;)

Thanks for stopping by Anon.  I sure hope the rumor has legs- It sure would be great for both teams to fill schedules and experience new competition and venues.

Tried checking out Warhawkfootball.com tonight - it appears to be gone.  Is voice OK these days?
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

And just an FYI, there's no deadline in scheduling. Theoretically, you could schedule a game on Friday and play it on Saturday if you thought you could pull it off. (Occasionally baseball/softball and tennis teams do just that.)

Good luck to WW as they try to become the first school in any division to win National Titles in Football, Basketball and Baseball all in the same school year.
