Schedule officially posted, rumor of playing TCNJ is correct, playing them on 9/20!

Stupid observation:

TCNJ (The College of New Jersey) has to be one of the few college acronyms where "the" is included. Can anyone think of any other's off the top of their head?

Hey, don't worry, I always thought it stood for Technical for the longest time!

I just looked it up a second ago, because I had no idea.

If so, are we going to see another upset of the century?

I am on the East Coast and until that exact moment, I thought it stood for Technical.

Used to be called Trenton State but no one wants to be associated with Trenton these days. Might be a throwback on the T.

It will be  an honor to welcome the national champs to NJ. ;)  By the way, TCNJ is  not in Trenton-actually a very nice campus just outside of Trenton.  Folks from Wisconsin should try to make the trip. Make sure you pick up a pork roll, egg and cheese sandwich before the game while you're here!

Trenton State College is the team the WARHAWKS defeated 94-86 for the 1989 DIII National Championship in basketball.  They had a guard, Greg Grant, who was an All American and played in the NBA.

Had many other things going on the past few months, but let me add my congrats to UWW for their unprecidented success. I just read the article on the Front Page, and noticed that there was much similarity in that explanation and what I have been saying forever. -and getting blasted.

Welcome back.
It was the dissimilar stuff that you got blasted for.  ;D

How's the MIAC shaping up for 14?

emma gets my first "+" of the season. Good comeback.

I am so out of the loop regarding the status of the MIAC in general, and SJU specifically, I won't make any comments other than there probably isn't much change in the power structure. St Thomas, Bethel, SJU, Concordia, Augsburg, being the top 5 in the recent past, will probably remain there.

That's a tough conference for sure. I'm hoping for a Johnny comeback to national prominence. The tradition is a big part of the D3 world.

Agree, DIII football is that more fun when the Johnnies are in the national title mix.

Knox did a clever job of dancing around the assumption that Whitewater has had success because of its enrollment size. He just so happened to throw in some stats about UWW's enrollment between other paragraphs where he talks about why Whitewater has had success.

In that paragraph he never says "Whitewater is benefiting from....", or "Another reason of their succes is...." or "2nd factor for their success has been...", etc..

Almost like he is throwing enrollment stats out there and letting his readers make a conclusion on their own....if they choose to believe that or not  ;)
