We got to see Blanchard hand off a few times at the end of a Panther win today.

Didn't know Blanchard is in camp with Carolina...good for him. I hope his stat line was better against Kansas City than it was week 1 versus Buffalo: 1 of 7 passing for 13 yds, 1 INT, 2 sacks and 1 fumble lost. Ouch.

In all fairness to him what happened against Buffalo wasn't totally his fault. He was playing behind the second and third string offensive line, and the Bills' subs just used them up. I'd put the INT on Blanchard, and maybe half the fumble (he was holding the ball low and it got slapped away) but the way things were going at the time I doubt if Cam Newton would have done much better.
As far as being in camp, this is technically Blanchard's second year with the Panthers since he spent last season on their practice squad.

UWW's Q&A from its Media Day.

No Freshmen roster yet (but the So's, Jr's and Sr's are listed).

McDonald is gone. Had 2 police citations since June:  the first for underage drinking, the second for pot paraphernalia which he admitted to owning, discovered by police when they were called to his apartment a couple weeks ago because of a loud party and a fight, not featuring McDonald.

Thanks for the info...very disappointing.

Kumerow only DIII player to be named to Senior Bowl watch list.....

His development between his first year and last year was remarkable.  I'm excited to see him play this year.

If you look at the actual list, you see that the fine folks at seniorbowl.com couldn't even muster up a UWW logo to copy and paste next to his name. Rather they default to the anonymous NCAA logo.  ::)

Anyway...glad to see Jake get some national attention outside of DIII. the lone DIII rep on the list.

Don't feel too bad. They gave the same treatment to the FCS and Division II guys as well. I'm sure finding those four logos would have been quite a burden.

Some UMHB players (I believe) put out a hype rap song and called out Whitewater in the lyrics.

I think the song is hilarious. "Your team is so weak...".  That's awesome. I think they should play it for their home games! Mentioning Whitewater is nothing other than a compliment.  I have a feeling if they meet UW-W this year, it may be in Salem.

UW Eau Claire BluGolds lined up against Gustavus for a scrimmage today in St Peter.  Recently the BluGolds scheduled Wisconsin Lutheran so this is a bit if a change up this year.  And the team has a new Defensive Coordinator.  And the school a new Athletic Director.  The A.D.will be a good addition to the athletic teams.  He has DI experience and is here for a reason...family and future. A good combination.  Any other scrimmages out there?

UW-W scrimmaged the College of Du Page today.  I was out of state and unable to attend. Anyone get a chance to watch?

I have been off the boards for a while but with my handy iPad I am back!  Here's my question, could UWW football use a media student or two and put a little more hype on program publicity all year long, especially closer to kick off?  They have a lot of students and I am sure several would be willing. I would like to see more coverage on Facebook, YouTube, their own UWW football site, etc...  That being said, I can't wait for sept 5.

Contact the Sports Information office and see if they are hiring. It's what they do.

Not to say you can't do things on your own, but if you can get paid for it and make it more "official" then I'd go that route.

Hello New Hawk.
This board can never get enough publicity for their team (now teams). Have at it.

Would you like me to send you a picture of Blanchard getting bent three ways from Sunday in a 2009 playoff win?

The UWW football website has a pretty good media guide/prospectus available right now to view.
