I understand Kumerow is a fantastic target in the red zone- I do worry about a lack of distribution to other receivers though.

Well there's a problem a lot of teams would like to have!  One of the things I've always marveled at is the ability of both UW-W and Mount to keep things under wraps until a certain point in the season (sometimes all the way until the Stagg Bowl).  I wonder...
yeah.....kinda like putting Kumerow in the backfield and then putting him into motion....or having him run a route straight from the backfield.....where did I see that happen?   ;D 8-)

WHD.

I loved the way UWW got creative with Kumerow in the Stagg. Like Bleed posted, I believe that stuff was ready available during the season but kept in wraps.

As for distributing the ball a bit more, receivers are psychologically challenging.
It's a good thing when all of the guys are sharing in the wealth- no need to keep something like that in the wraps. No way, no how is it possible that J Howard wouldn't like a couple TD's to his stats given all he does for the team.

NU = Nerds University

That's exactly why it hurts so much. When the smart kids beat you in football, what do you have left ?!?

You convinced me of that a long time ago.  ;D

One aspect of UW-W's performance Saturday is unmatched in the Stagg Era. Another has not been accomplished since 2005. What were they?

For as much as people seem to have lowered their expectations of Platteville, after 4 games, they have the following WIAC rankings:

OFFENSE:
Rushing offense: 2nd
Passing Offense: 3rd
Total Offense: 2nd
Scoring Offense: 2nd

DEFENSE:
Rushing defense: 4th (ugly 5.1 yards allowed per carry, though)
Passing defense: 1st
Total defense: 2nd
Scoring defense: 2nd

For the record, I am just listing facts. I am not saying they are a threat to UW-W. I am not trying to mislead anyone. Interpret the facts however you like.  8-)

An hour north of me. My wife's college roommate was from there.

Good info here. An additional for the record - UWP took a perception pounding (there's that word again Bobo) after their loss to NCC. However, the 28-7 score is a bit misleading.  NCC put up 21 in the first quarter as UWP played shell shocked. The remaining three quarters saw a 7-7 draw. UWP is weak against the run and NCC is an excellent running team- which we all knew going in.
I have to give the Pointers some credit for the way they finished that game, even though I was disappointed given they just played NCC in the playoffs and should have been better prepared.

I believe UWP is a serious threat in the WIAC. I could envision a scenario where the refs get flag happy w holding penalties against UWW, forcing the Hawks out of their rythem and tempo.

I believe UW-P deserves more credit than they are receiving as well. However, I could also envision them needing 45 points to beat UW-W if they don't figure out run defense.
