For as much as people seem to have lowered their expectations of Platteville, after 4 games, they have the following WIAC rankings:

OFFENSE:
Rushing offense: 2nd
Passing Offense: 3rd
Total Offense: 2nd
Scoring Offense: 2nd

DEFENSE:
Rushing defense: 4th (ugly 5.1 yards allowed per carry, though)
Passing defense: 1st
Total defense: 2nd
Scoring defense: 2nd

For the record, I am just listing facts. I am not saying they are a threat to UW-W. I am not trying to mislead anyone. Interpret the facts however you like.  8-)

UWP did a lot of damage to some teams that aren't exactly going to light you up (defensively or offensively): Dubugue, Buena Vista and Eau Claire. Those three teams combined have three wins on the season.

To gauge how UWP might do against a strong program, I'm looking closely at the NCC game. NCC was able to get over 400 yards of offense against UWP, and the Cardinals are a team that's really struggling at the QB position. Even though the Pioneers are the second highest scoring team in the WIAC...they only had one scoring drive in Naperville. Which is kind of shocking, because they have some really good weapons.

I'm really looking forward to the UWP-UWSP game the following weekend. That might be the game of the year in the WIAC. It'll be a good test for both programs.

Any of you live up around Beaver Dam, Wisconsin

An hour north of me. My wife's college roommate was from there.
Linfield is buried there

They've been buried in Whitewater a couple of times too.  :-X

The WIAC is a great D2 conference!  Lower admission standards, lower tuition costs, more cute girls, no wonder they are dominating D3...

I've seen many a lovely lady at The Perk - both student and fan.  I'd say from my own experience in this category the WIAC should consider moving up to FBS.

I'd guess that he's kidding. But a smiley face goes a long way when typing something like that as a joke. Otherwise, (if serious) I think he's really stepping in it. Oh well.

Remember UWP needed a last second score to beat SP last season.

I, on the other hand, am leaning the other way in that I feel one or both of them will make it a stinker of a game because one or both of them are being terribly overrated by members of this forum and the larger D3 community as a whole. emma, 02, go at it and convince me why I'm wrong!!

Funny, I always thought this was an instance where the WIAC had a lot in common with St. Bens  ;D (inserted to ensure y'all know it's a joke. Man, the Tommie invasion of the MIAC board the last 3 years is rubbing off on my sense of humor!)

Next time you talk to the Cannon Guy, tell him that just maybe, he's having a bit too much potato salad between blasts. The next blast might just be the buttons off his uniform jacket!!  ;D

IF UWW would go on to win conference, the winner of this game could determine who's the #2 team in the WIAC....and a potential Pool C bid. Of course there's still lots of football to be played.

I guess I was looking at this game from a what's-at-stake angle.
