For UW-W fans who either didn't see the game or want to watch it again, a link to a replay of the game is up now at www.warhawkfootball.com.

Don't go looking for the Kumerow touchdown in the 2nd quarter.  The broadcast blipped yesterday and missed that play, and the replay doesn't have it either.
What the hell was that?  That was a Drop-kick.  Drop-kick? How much is that worth?  Three points.  THREE POINTS?!

Same goes for the Howard TD in the 2nd quarter, as well. So, it's called a "blip?" Didn't know those technical words, k'sink. To me, it was just bad camera work.  Master Jedi, emma and I commented during the live action that the camera operator had a habit of shooting the game in too close many times. Needed to have the lense setting a little wider to get more of the field. But overall, it was a quality picture with little buffering. Listened to the WW radio as I got tired of the Stout guys after about 5 minutes. I hope the Whitewater TV folks get things worked out for the upcoming games since their coverage and picture quality has really sucked this year. Last home game all I got was a black screen and no audio. That Resident Life media player buffers every couple minutes. Makes watching a game worthless.

I turned off the audio, too.  The KOOL guys were much more palatable.  And the sync was close enough to get by.

KOOL guys are not only palatable - they are good!  Gary Douglas is one of the top five "play-by-play" announcers in the state!!

Glad to hear it wasn't just me being over sensitive to opposing broadcasts. The one Stout announcer was a glorified cheerleader for the team. I guess we're spoiled having Gary Douglass doing UWW's games.

The best "blip" was when Stout threw a long (25 yd) sideline pass in the second half and most of it including the catch wasn't shown.  Then they showed the replay.  Not surprisingly none of it was shown then either.

For the most part the "blips" were a minor inconvenience and I thought the overall production was ok.  Considering we're getting these broadcasts for free I'm not going to complain.

Just curious, who are the other four on your mini list?

Emma17: Thanks for the kind words, but that is one you have to win. A very frustrating loss for La Crosse.

Didn't see the game, but I heard how the last three minutes went. Did the LaCrosse QB make a huge mistake (kneel rather than spike)? Or did they want to take time off the clock? Also, from what people saw, was the correct call on the field made, when that late LX play was ruled "no TD" by the WR?

I would love to see some video of those highlights, if available anywhere.

Bleed will probably have more insight. Bad decision to kneel instead of down the ball.
From my view online- the receiver looked out of bounds.

You're a nice guy BW.
I personally don't care that the broadcast is free- if they are going to do it, do it right to the best of their ability. If students are running the broadcast it doesn't matter. It doesn't take honor roll achievement to shoot the game through a wider view. I can't imagine there wasn't someone connected w UWS watching the game online that couldn't contact the cameraman.
Great video quality yes- crap job by cameraman.
Of course, if there is a technical reason they couldn't shoot wider angle, I apologize.

Regarding UWW's "sluggish" 1st quarter and second half performance.

I was completely comfortable w the performance and game plan.
I can be guilty of believing without proof that the UWW coaching staff doesn't always worry about maximizing each game, but rather uses some individual games to work toward big picture goals.

2 ideas.
1- the field goal kicking has been a big concern. Is it just a coincidence that the UWW O stalled 4 times- resulting in field goal attempts
2- I'm not looking to be "right" on this subject, but I don't think an over reliance on Kumerow is good for the long haul. It's great to have him as the go-to guy whenever needed. Surely Behrendt could have gone to Kumerow more- especially in short yardage/red zone stuff.
I loved the way UWW involved the other receivers. It didn't have the same results as going to Kumerow, but this approach will only pay dividends going forward.

37-0 was a great win in many ways.

ScreamingEagles

Heartbreaking loss for UWL this weekend.  Not sure how good Oshkosh is with all of their NAIA opponents, but UWL at least showed they can be competitive within the WIAC.  Still only 232 yards of total offense, which is a huge concern.

Some winnable games coming up on the second half of the schedule beginning with Stout this weekend.  It will be interesting to see what happens.
