Congrats UWW for clinching a WIAC record 34th conference title.

On a side note... I just crunched the official NCAA attendance figures. UW-Whitewater again has captured the NCAA 3 regular season attendance title averaging 9428 fans per game at the Perk. St. Johns (MN) finishes second at 8776 fans per game. No other school has averaged over 7000 per game despite having one home game to play

So let's see if I have this right BoBo. If an opposing team/player does well against UWW, it's because UWW was deficient. When  UWW as a team does well against an opponent, it has nothing to do with the deficiencies of the opponent, but everything to do with UWW abilities. Do I have it now?

Many thanks to all that wished me happy birthday online and at the Perk yesterday. Special thanks to Jeff Seisser, Josh Smith,Tom Haudricourt and Daryl Tessman for me feeling welcome in the Perkins Stadium press box. It was the first time for me this year up in a spot that I had previously called home every home game since 1988. It was a very special feeling!

Also, UW-W now has the longest winning streak in college football at any level at 26 games!
Tip of the cap to UNI for the assist!

Your ability to grasp the essence and of things continually amazes me.  You are one sharp dude.  Nothing gets past you.  ;D

Just to clarify, I thought I was the only one with this outlook when it came to my teams. ;)

Hampden-Sydney will likely average more than 7,000 because they have their huge archrivaly game vs. Randolph-Macon at home this week. 10,300 for that game is reasonable.

Four elderly, reasonably knowledgeable fans of UWRF/WIAC attended the Stout/RF game yesterday. One topic of discussion was the relative strength of WIAC/MIAC. The unanimous conclusion was that the MIAC has overtaken the WIAC in relative football quality. Except for WW, we concluded that SJU, Bethel, UST, Concordia and Gustavus would all compete better than 50/50 with the 5 teams below WW in the WIAC. Maybe this topic has already been hashed out, but if so, I missed it.

P.S.  this is an unprovable assumption, the best kind to stimulate opinions!

MESSAGE TO RECRUITS:  IN DOUBT? ENROLL AT STOUT. DON'T CARE? GO TO EAU CLAIRE. AT A LOSS? TRY LACROSSE. FEELIN' OUTTA JOINT? YOUR PLACE IS POINT. DON'T LIKE THE REST? DO WHAT'S BEST!

GOT BALLS? PLAY FOR THE FALLS!

When you're comparing a nine-team MIAC with an eight-team WIAC, you have to toss someone out of the middle of the MIAC to make it even. The MIAC doesn't get to toss out Carleton just because it would help their cause. :)

St. John's vs. Whitewater
Bethel vs. Platteville
Concordia-Moorhead vs. Oshkosh
St. Thomas vs. Stevens Point
Hamline vs. River Falls
Augsburg vs. La Crosse
St. Olaf vs. Stout
Carleton vs. Eau Claire

I've bolded the ones I think the MIAC would win.

I think most people would prefer to compare Strength vs. Strength.  We don't really care after a game is a blowout which JV team is winning the 4th quarter.  If the MIAC would beat 3 of the top 4 or 4 of the top 5 if Gustavus counts, we can call off the dogs.  Nobody cares who won the most bronze medals.

Pat Coleman

If the question is relative strength of the MIAC and WIAC (and that was was his honor posted) then let's compare the relative strength of the MIAC and WIAC, not the relative strength of the MIAC and WIAC leaders.

That doesn't mean it was correct. :)
