Little giants are adorable, aren't they?

Wabash Always Fights. When I saw it was supposed to hit 40 degrees today, I was wondering where all that hot air was going to come from. Now I know. I feel a little guilty about how much I look forward to the game.  It will be like telling a little kid there is no Santa Claus. I shouldn't look forward to that. But I do.

GO HAWKS!

You're a mean one, Mr Grinch.

The kids got to play with their stick ponies and suck on their lollipops and play in fantasyland all week.  As Al McGuire used to say, "It's all seashells and balloons".  But today is about what is, not what they wish it would be.

Good luck. No injuries. No Excuses. Win or Go Home. Period. Let's do this!  ;D

That is great.  Good luck today and enjoy the experience.  We had fun at the Perk the year we went to watch Wesley-UWW.  Hopefully your game will be more competitive than ours was.

Awesome! Pace yourself, it's early.  ;)

Sadly, you may outnumber us. Due to Thanksgiving and our state's obsession with deer hunting, this weekend's attendance is traditionally lower even than the other rather unfortunate (read "pathetic") playoff attendance figures. Get your admin to schedule us in early September and we'll have 10,000 plus. A November playoff game? 1,000 would be good this weekend. An unpleasant oddity.

Have fun...this MORNING.  ;D

he speaks the truth   the 3 times Franklin has been there for the playoffs the crowd has been what you would expect for a team of UWW's caliber and tradition.

Complete. Domination.  :o

Great job by the (first team) defense, not giving up any points. Offense seemed to move the ball at will, but turnovers kept us off the scoreboard early....then the flood gates openned up in the second half.

We might have our hands full with a good passing wartburg next week. Looking forward to it.

The defense totally dominated the game  I haven't checked the box score but I don't think Wabash went over 100 yards of offense until either late in the third or the fourth quarter. The final stats are misleading since most of the their yardage was from one drive against our two's and lower in the fourth. I was getting really aggravated in the first half with our inability to hold on to the ball and the blocked field goal they went all the way back with. Glad to see the O turn it around in the second half. The game was never in question, we controlled both sides of the ball, but we should have scored three more times in the first half.  It was good to see Kumerow back, even though he played sparingly. It was great to see him go up and grab a TD.
I definitely think the D answered the questions about them stopping the run.  Wartburg should be a great game.

I'm looking forward to it too...13-26 today for all of 87 net passing yards, 3.3 yards/play, 2 sacks...wait a minute, that's a good passing team?  I'm salivating...

Congrats also go out today for emma for finally growing a pair.  Well done young man, you said what I've been thinking for a long time (since at least 2007).  As John Wayne said in one of his movies, "They're a little short on ears and long in the mouth."

+K to you!!

Congratulations, Hawks! Keep pounding that Rock.

Today was uneven in some senses, but solid in others.

Let's get the bad out of the way first because we won and advanced and that's all that matters.

The fumbles, interceptions, dropped passes, and the blocked kick/TD return were uncharacteristic and need to stay that way.  In these terms, this was the sloppiest game UW-W has played in quite awhile. The Hawks out-gained Wabash by almost 200 yards in the first half but led only 10-7. Those mistakes have to stop. I'm sure they will because ball security and solid special teams has been a hallmark at UW-W.

Now to the good:

Complete dominance at the line of scrimmage. The O-Line and defensive front seven were both dominant.  When the starters went to the bench on both sides of the ball, UW-W had a yardage edge of 450 to 125.

The defense played GREAT! Before the starters went out in the fourth quarter, Wabash had exactly two plays that gained 10 yards or more. One of 10 yards and one of 11 yards. They had no ability to do anything downfield at all.

Justin Howard had an excellent game. 6 catches for 126 yards and 3 touchdowns. Great Job JH!

Nice to see JK back, even though he was very limited, he seemed pretty much unstoppable.

The running backs ran hard.

Awesome pick-6 Brady! BG's Post game comments made it sound like one of the safeties made a call that alerted Brady and he went for it and got it! Teamwork!

The linebackers "disched" it out today. I thought the whole unit stepped up big time! Justin Dischler 13 tackles and 2 forced fumbles!  Awesome!

It is obvious that UW-W has at least four wide receivers (maybe more if they had opportunity) who can make plays and make important catches.  I'm not sure how the upcoming opponents are going to try to stop them, but it won't be easy.  Kumerow and Howard are pretty much nightmares for any cornerback.  Worth and Finco are definitely nightmares for any #3 or #4 cover guys.

The offensive line and the defensive front seven seem to be peaking at the right time.

Next week's game will be another fun one.  ;)

Overall, a great win.

Is it possible that they played against a pretty good defense today/? A defense that had given up  11pts/game? Maybe, just maybe?

Hey emma -- just in case you don't go back to the NCAC board to see what I said there, I'll repeat it here. Putting an apology at the beginning of your post doesn't excuse you for being an ass.

Unnecessary and uncalled for and not really in line with the general classiness of the UWW program.
