Weird times for my friends in WI.  I do recall all the moaning/gnashing of teeth/outrage when LL was hired instead of Zweifel.  Many UWW fans were upset, and some to the point that they posted on the board they weren't going to support UWW at the level they had before.  I wonder how that hire worked out?   ::)  Oh wait.....5 Stagg Bowl wins.   ;)

I would wait to see how this plays out, and my educated guess is all will be well in Warhawk land.

I think it's lacking in clear thought, and empathy to bash either the HC for taking a job that is leaps and bounds better than the one he has ($$, opportunities), and taking his assistants along with him who have helped make him the success he is.  Same for said assistants that now get a chance to take a huge step up ($$, opportunities) in their careers.

Good luck this Saturday, and my hope (and guess) is I will see some of you in Salem over the next few years (I really hate those guys).   8-)

Another concern is if a number of underclassmen transfer to other WIAC schools. So their decision came down to UWW & UWO (or any other D3 school) and now the coaching staff is gone,do some of them transfer? There is no penalty to transfer,no sitting out a year like in higher divisions.

There is a WIAC Transfer rule. If a player who has played at least TWO seasons at one WIAC school and transfers to another WIAC school, they are ineligible for one year. So current freshman can leave freely, but sophomores and juniors would have to sit at another WIAC school.

There is no doubt that even though we are happy for Lance and the other coaches that UWW fans now have a chip on our shoulder.  I believe the players will to, but they needed the cathartic process during practice this week to firmly plant it there.

Could be the first time in sports history a team uses "it's us against the world" as motivation...with the world being their own coaches. I guess it beats Mount or Whitewater saying nobody believed in them.

If I wasn't confident in the senior leadership on the team I'd be a little nervous about this game.

I think somebody said something about a future linebacker. So, this being Wisconsin, I can't really know.

Maybe Trestman can take the Oregon St. job, with Riley going to Nebraska.

I have two daughters -- neither of them want to play football but a young lady at our church plays high school football and I just wanted to be on the record as stating that a child born in 2014 shouldn't have her future linebacker status assumed away. :)

That's all. No offense to 413, though!

That said, being a Johnnie, I do hope this provides a significant speed bump for the UWW juggernaut.   ;) 8-)

I'll be honest, being a UWO Titan, ...I've been smiling since the LL hiring broke  ;D

LOL, none taken, Pat.  I assumed you were inferring that it was possible that any Raebel child could be encouraged to play linebacker, regardless of their gender, especially, if she got her daddy's size.   You know us too well.  ;) 8-)  If she would take after her grandmother when it comes to size, I would just have to make sure she thinks like a linebacker.   8-)  Ultrasound shows a healthy baby boy!   :)
