Yep. Big challenge again Saturday.  Loved the "solve Sam Riddle" reference. Well done, Josh!  ;)

I'm sure this is the case nearly every year, but there are 4 darn good quarterbacks in the semi's.  I know the NFL is become more of a "best QB wins" kind of league. But I've never really thought of D3 that way. But whatever the case, these four guys are good!

Good point on the QB's.
Interesting contrast in style too.  Burke and Riddle are the run/pass threats, reflecting the latest rage in offensive football at all levels with the read option.
Behrendt and Callahan stay home a bit more.
Riddle with 117 rushing attempts and Burke with 99.
Callahan with 50 rushing attempts and Behrendt with 34.

I'm leaning towards foregoing the tailgating festivities at the Perk Saturday, and head to Salvo's Coyote Grill to watch the UMU/Linfield game instead. Sounds like they will open up early for the first game. A Salvo burger and a pitcher of Spotted Cow is mighty tempting before UWW kicks off at 2:30.  ;D
Oh ya, Grilled Ranchero Melt with the seasoned fries is one of my favorite burgers on the planet!   But, last chance to tailgate this season, and +40 temps, is too hard to pass up, 02.

413,

will you be in the back row  by the road again this year ? Not sure you can see me with ALL  my warm camo stuff on. 8-)  ;D

Wisconsin for Oregon State? I gotta be missing something here....

Word on the street is that he's a west coast guy at heart, but more importantly, he was increasingly frustrated with Wisconsin's admission requirements.  He hasn't been able to get a number of highly rated, committed prospects through the admission office. There are many on the WI message boards who have never really warmed-up to him, from the way he handled Melvin Gordon in the LSU game, to the QB situation all this season and think the job is over his head - coming from Utah State. Oregon State is a convienient opening to make his get-away.

I'm happy he left.  Wisconsin had absolutely no air game this year and the offense was so predictable it made me sick (I am a ex-pat cheesehead born and raised in Milwaukee, by the way).  Running on 3rd and long?  Really?  Aufwiedersehen!

Anderson had just recruited a QB from Utah that set 15 state records, threw for over 12,000 and ran for over 6500 yards.  Austin Kafentzis also threw 109 touchdown passes and rushed for another 98 touchdowns in his high school career.  Of course now Kafentzis is in a holding pattern waiting to see who is hired and what sort of offense they will use. He may end up at Oregon State who knows.

You can blame Anderson for McEvoy but he had nothing to do with Stave, Houston and the rest of the QB crew that he inherited.   It's apparent that he felt the UW's admissions standards were too strict and that limited his recruiting.  The timing upsets me because for the second time UW will go into a significant bowl game dragging baggage.  I have faith that Alverez will hire a competent replacement but in the mean time the team gets hurt.

Well, I have every faith in Alvarez (seriously).  The guy knows what he is doing on every level of football.  Anderson was promising with his resume from Utah, but I was not happy with the play calling at all.

Could it be the pressure of recruiting against UWW is just too great?

Ha!

How about the little rumor that Pelini is on Wisconsin's short list:o Oh the irony! Musical chairs between OSU, Nebraska and Wisconsin anyone??

Tell ya what, if Wisconsin did hire Pelini, we wouldn't have to worry about manufacturing a rivalry anymore!

He was also the Utah state champion and record holder in the javelin.  His best distance as a junior in HS would have won the Big Ten Conference track and field meet last May.  He is (was) set to enroll early on Jan 12...but he tweeted out he found out about the change while getting his hair cut, the previous night OC Andy Ludwig had a home visit with him and didn't know anything about the news at that time. So apparently, GA didn't even inform his assistants, especially those on the road recruiting, of his plans.  To see that kids highlight film is amazing...he was truly all UW, but obviously GA was a major part of the reason. His dad played at Hawaii and was a Chicago Bear for a short time before injury ended his career. He posts on BadgerNation.com and has always spoken about wanting his son to play Big Ten football. The day after he committed to UW last June, Alabama offered him, but he never wavered, but now this - who knows?

Oh, geez, I wish.  Don't get me started!  Wait...............you just did.   ;D Let my pull out my soap box.   With my son coaching at another D3 program and our attending those games during the regular season, we did not buy a reserved parking spot this year, a procedure that was started a few years ago.  While the first year of reserved parking spaces only guaranteed your spot for the regular season and play-offs went back to first-come, first-serve, a game I have noooo problem winning, now, those spots are guaranteed throughout any play-off games which I find silly given that the attendance is always wayyyyy down at this time of year.  Last Saturday, I actually, took a picture of the back row next to the road that runs in front of the Perk at 10:30, an hour and a half before kick-off and there was nothing occupying that prime real estate but little orange cones.   ::)  Eventually, a few cars showed up and parked in some of the spots but no tailgating took place on that boulevard for the most part the entire time.  But the kicker is that, even the unreserved spots are not, first-come, first serve!!!!  We were the 2nd car into the lot last week at 8:00 AM and were escorted to a spot, and told we could not park anywhere else.  Soooo, I guess the answer is to open my wallet next year and buy a spot where I want to be for $60 and maybe only use it for a few play-off games and it will remain empty during the regular season and others will not be able to use it during the season, equally regrettable.  Ok, will get down now from my box.............

SOOOOO, I don't know where I will be parking, DC1, but WC11 has my cell number and is planning on come see us.  We drive a silver QX56 Infinity SUV with Illinois plates.  Please track me down.  We make a great Bloody Mary!

I thought all Infiniti drivers had $20's and $50's rolled and stuffed in the ashtray where most of us keep nickels and dimes. What's 60 bucks?  ;D

I have a pint of 10 Barrel Apocalypse IPA (Bend, OR) to offer up when I show up. Would have brought more but I was running out of room in my bag.

One of the main guys (sellouts) with 10 Barrel is Garrett Wales. I'm assuming that's not the same guy who kicked for the Wildcats some years back?
