Just booked my fan bus ticket...should be interesting  ;D

MasterJedi and Kitchen: Were there stops along the way (breakfast, lunch, etc...)? Or do people just bring their own food, and the bus goes straight there?

The bus leaves at 10:00 Thursday night, and will get to Salem at 2:00 (EST) Friday.

Any advice for the first timer?

Bring a pillow!

Several stops, so you didn't have to use the rolling potty.  And you have your chances to get a bite to eat (many do bring some snacks as well, though).  Bring time-killers:  E-books (or old fashioned books), crossword puzzles, knitting, whatever floats your boat.  And whatever will help you sleep away as much time as possible.  There are outlets on the bus, so you can keep your smartphone/tablet/whatever charged up and running for the duration even if you use them constantly.

Remember when you get there, after a short time the bus will be unavailable.  So don't leave your jacket on board that you might need for the game.

Does anyone bring coolers, like for tailgating once you get there? I'm sure there's storage under the bus, but I'm not sure if we can use it or not. I have a feeling I'll need a beer after that trip.

No beer allowed, they'll search everything you bring on board to make sure you don't have any.

Looks like we can bring a cooler, but it has to go in storage under the bus.

;D

They check the coolers too, they made people pull the beer in their coolers and put it back in their cars. Yes, it sucks, some of us went on a 15 min walk to the liquor store to get beer and bought beer though lol

I just got off the phone with the athletic department. She said they are cool with putting coolers under the bus...just as long you don't bring any alcohol on the bus with you. The storage unit under the bus is open for anyone to bring basically whatever they want; cooler, suitcase, etc....

She mentioned people have done this before. I guess that's what KitchenSink was talking about when he noticed that coolers were brought last time he was on.

I HATE inconsistent answers (I work in customer service) because then it causes these fun conversations lol. The reason I say this too is because I watched them make two different guys open the coolers and remove ALL the beer they had and wouldn't let them put it under the bus. So someone is wrong lol

The full Linfield vs UWW Semi-Final game has been posted on YouTube:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVyRFJ35HjU

Gee, thanks for this.  Just went and watched the 4th quarter, all I had time to see.  One of the consolations/hopes for us Mount Union folks has been the idea of never betting against Burke if it's close at the end of the game, mostly out of last year's playoff run and a little bit this year.

After watching this, though, I got to thinking...when the heck has Beherendt ever lost a close one?  The last scoring drive was impressive and my hunch is that he's had more 4th quarter game-winning drives than Burke.  So much for having that to fall back on!

It'd be great theater to see both the QB's fighting it out at the end of a close game!

Note to emma17:
Did you see that Marian (Ind.) is playing Southern Oregon for the NAIA Championship on Friday? Marian beat Oshkosh 24-20 the second week of the season and Oshkosh basically had the game won, but Marian went 75 yards in :43 in 4 plays to score with 1 second remaining. Just an interesting fact...Oshkosh was good this year;)

Yes, they were. I had my doubts early in the season but it appears 3 of their losses were to fantastic football teams:

Marian U in the NAIA championship.
South Dakota State went 9-5 in D1 FCS losing in 2nd rd of playoffs to 3 time defending champs NDSU
UWW playing for D3 national championship

I am still amazed they lost to Robert Morris U (even though they were 8-3)

Robert Morris beat Marian in a regular season game.

Nice to hear Aaron Rodgers give UWW a shout out during his Tuesday weekly radio show to bring home another championship...the guy really knows whats going on, though he didn't know Dom Capers is a Mount alum - and his last game was a real dud. Hope he plays better this week!! Even the best can play a stinker once and forever.

Cerroni just completed his 8th season, they haven't been looking for a FB coach for a long time.  Who did they miss out on 8 years ago craft_?  Eight years ago? Why does this even matter today?

Exactly why I was a bit confused....  With that said, Cerroni seems to have been a good hire.

I really like Coach Cerroni. I know the family of one of his players. They tell some great stories. He is a competitor, but doesn't take himself too seriously. He seems to have a good sense of humor off the field but he is a good coach and knows football on the field.  I get the sense he is a player's coach. All that to say, I think UW-O got a good one.

....sorry to be late congratulating the Warhawks on their win! That was a barn burner of a game. What I was most impressed about with your offense was your 2 running backs. I thought they were the difference. IMHO. Plus your defense was stellar. I'm rooting for the Warhawks Friday!

I think what that guy is trying to get to by beating around the biggest bush in the history of horticulture, is that Oshkosh missed on his man, Vince Kehres - like he was the man they were after. As usual, craft_, has his facts all wrong.  River Falls and La Crosse interviewed him, about 4 years ago. RF hired Matt Walker (after he removed his name from consideration), and La Crosse,  Detweiler. I read somewhere VK turned down La Crosse, but the way I understood it, he came across like an arrogant SOB during his on campus open interview and they didn't want him. I wasn't there, and he was so if he says he turned them down, so be it. But by reading between the lines, the fact he was interviewing in the first place with 2 Evil Empire institutions, it seemed like he was trying to get daddy's attention. I guess it worked.

From what I remember, there was talk that Daddy wanted him to go through the application/interview process as a learning experience. He was never serious about taking a WIAC job as he had the golden road laid out in front of him.   ;)  But, hey, I don't remember a lot, correctly, these days.   ;D

We've talked about coaches making a big jump like Lance has going from DIII to D1 but how about a coach going from high school to D1.
